WWhistlerEricDanceNumberas long as u are in dx9 you can use whatever non-cheat commands you want.Is this new information? The Q&A video mentioned that certain commands would be restricted.
Even in the Q&A video he said, there are a lot of useless commands in the FPS configs. I would not be surprised if the game on default starts going way better than with a FPS cfg.
this is already somewhat the case for older FPS configs, by the way. chris' dx9frames will give you worse performance than default
the 5 conditions are so, no matter what, there's always gonna be a shit/cheap version of a skin
you can kinda see it in the steam market now, a good number of weapon skins will have the battle-scarred versions cost more than the well-worn/field-tested versions

this pretty much seals the deal for coffin nail being the coolest skin. why can't there be strange versions of civ weapons :(
idk if the not-being-able-to-click-on-anything w/ tf_scoreboard_mouse_mode 1/2 is mannterface's fault (TF2 always does this with scoreboards, for some reason) but I'm gonna assume the player list going down that far isn't intended
I feel like a lot of them would say similarly about mouse acceleration or a change of sensitivity, mind. it's something that they've used for so long that anything else, even when it's a better option, feels awkward
but wait, from comanglia's config:
"fps caps on PCs that consistently meet that cap causes horrible input lag when attempting to turn/aim"
doesn't that mean fps_max is actually a pretty bad choice here?, if you consistently hit the number that causes this stuttering?
I think it might actually be better, as ridiculous as it sounds, to find as many commands as possible to lower your FPS
I mean, my "isn't for well over a year" sorta assumes that valve realizes why certain things are banned, under this less-strict whitelist setup, and valve can actually have a discussion with top 6s players for fixing them
obviously, if valve doesn't do this, the problems 6s might have in connecting this gap might be a tad larger in scope, as that means valve just isn't listening to the people they're trying to cater to
how much uber you chip off doesn't really matter, though. that is still a situation wherein the medic temporarily has no way of popping uber, in a scenario where he might have wanted to pop uber
like, you're an engineer when you use this, remember. a point in time where the other team isn't ubered during their push is a point in time where your lvl3 sentry is getting more damage, meaning even one lucky swipe multiplies your defense's chance of success
obviously people are going to pick the highest FOV in that poll, because it will give you an advantage, but in the grand scheme of things you'd be messing a whole lot of things up. while it's definitely not the biggest part of 6s, awareness is still a big thing and making that awareness even easier for players would result in huge changes (scouts and roamers are nerfed notably, spy is now 100% useless)
why the fuck is 70 still default though. I see rich tf2 pubbers who still use 70 and it destroys my heart
I don't think anyone's arguing for a change wherein everything's unbanned in a single night, since that would obviously end badly. even ETF2L is slowly bringing weapons in season-by-season, that's the best way of going about it to ensure everyone understands each weapon fully (and, worst case scenario, people can have concise, clear evidence of "see, this weapon is awful to deal with, we're waiting on a change from valve"), but eventually leagues are going to have to allow everything, even if that "eventually" isn't for well over a year
person who was making all those upvoted-to-hell new cosmetic previews is banned from the tf2 wiki, /r/tf2 is not happy about the reasoning and history behind it

go and click through to the steamcommunity link on that second one, if you want to see grown adults get mad that someone got a virtual hat for reporting an exploit
I know enough about CoD4 to understand that the reason the promod exists was out of necessity, as there was no polished competitive mode otherwise, and that gap between casual and competitive was always going to be there.
TF2, on the flipside, has a chance to close the gap for good, in a way that will obviously be a bit shit to start off, but considering how this ended up for games like CSGO, will be a massive benefit in the long run. plus, you should note that this doesn't mean that you're 100% locked to what MM is running, since I highly doubt any league's gonna run ctf_doublecross full-time any time soon, but the core concepts between the two levels should still be as similar as possible
even once you merge fire and projectile resistances together (so that you can just toggle between the two remaining resistances with one key and have it not be incredibly non-intuitive), you're still putting the enemy team in a scenario where they either focus their scouts or their soldiers on you. although, idk how you'd buff it without getting another quick-fix scenario wherein you just pocket a heavy on last forever until the opposing team is just choked out
btw, they fucked up the mad milk stats by accident
"Extinguishing a teammate with Mad/Mutated Milk restores 80% of the cooldown instead of 20%"
