#9 Need Smooths for TF.TV Pre/Post-Game in TF2 General Discussion
huhySmoothing is still bwoken

Is it possible in SFM? I think skyride made the badlands loop with that program.

kalhoWhy don't you show some fragmovies before the cast instead of having just a loop?

I'd need permission for each frag video. Also most frag videos would be completely out of context for the upcoming game if neither team is in the video. The point of the loop in my opinion is to instantly let the viewer know which map is being played.

ApolloftwI recommend that you use the official version cp_process instead of rc3 for the smooth.

Good idea! I totally just copied the map rotation off the ESEA site. OP is fixed.

#1 Need Smooths for TF.TV Pre/Post-Game in TF2 General Discussion

Hello!

I'm currently looking for someone to make a bunch of smooths for pregame and postgame for the casts. Currently we only have a badlands loop. If possible, I'd like to get a looped smooth of every map that is in the ESEA rotation. This would mostly help the viewers know what map is being played without asking the chat/looking it up during pregame.

Here's the maps I would like:
cp_process_rc3 cp_process_final
cp_snakewater
cp_gravelpit
cp_metalworks_rc4
cp_granary
cp_gullywash_final1
koth_pro_viaduct_rc3
And if you want to remake the badlands loop feel free (I'd recommend doing this if you don't use Source Film Maker)

Personal preferences:
-no color correction
-smooth able to loop seamlessly
-try making all the smooths nearly the same speed at a consistent speed throughout each
-Roughly 1 minute runtime
-720p 30fps
-Less than 100mb each (doesn't really have to be the absolute greatest quality)

This isn't exactly urgent, but it's the little things that help improve the casts in the long run. I've been trying to get these for a long time but everyone I've contacted has been busy with real life stuff. If anyone is willing to do this for me it would be much appreciated. Feel free to add me on Steam.

#197 What's your job, TF.TV? in Off Topic

Currently doing a part-time internship at Cumulus Media for a local radio station called 97 Rock. Mostly doing promotions stuff (ie free concerts twice a week).

Also working part-time at Lowe's in the paint department. Really really really boring.

#15 140,000 viewers for Evo MVC final... amazing in Esports
VirulenceRadmanI think the absolute biggest thing fighting games (and rts and mobas) have over TF2 is the viewers perspective. When we're forced to watch only one persons POV in a TF2 match, youre forcing the viewer to fill in all the blanks with their own game knowledge, which is kind of unwieldy for casual viewing.Nailed it. Unless you're already familiar with the environment the players are playing in, people are going to be lost. A fighting game is usually a 2D plane with two characters fighting. A top-down game RTS style game using actual terrain like DotA/StarCraft is easy enough to grasp. A sports match like basketball and soccer not only has a huge fanbase, but they're also viewed from a bird's-eye perspective.

Capturing the action of, say, a roamer bombing into a team to cause a distraction for Scouts to clean up, or a split push in CS:GO is maddening when trying to grab it all live with one camera angle to work with. Switching angles rapidly is disorienting to spectate, and even worse for newer viewers.

Solving this would be really complicated, I'd imagine. Accessibility is murder with first-person team games.

I was thinking if it was possible to have set points on the map we could bind to keys. For example, at mid fights, instead of pressing spacebar then manually flying to a good midfight angle, you simply could press a keybind to go to a specific spot that views the mid fight from a good angle (same would go for cps 1 and 2.) I never mentioned it to anyone because it seems impossible to do, but if it is possible I think it would enhance the viewing experience especially when fights in certain areas last a very long time.

So yeah if anyone is bold enough to attempt to figure something like this out, please give it a try!

#65 What you bought? in Off Topic

I received Antichamber and Hotline Miami from a friend which is awesome! Antichamber is very engaging and flows really nicely. I think I'm almost done with it. I haven't touched Hotline Miami yet but I hear good things.

I'll definitely be picking up XCOM if it gets voted for the community choice. I'm also looking at The Walking Dead, but I might hold off on it. Other than that I haven't bought anything yet.

I got the same, must be a bug.

Yeah it was a bug. I'm going to use the steam wallet for this summer sale so I have an actual budget. I think 50 bucks is more than enough (I hope)!

I just changed it to the same password. It seems to have fixed it but maybe not. I'll edit my post if it's still messing up.

#66 Update 7/10/13 in TF2 General Discussion
crespitruktrukI can see!!!!

Edit: I just tested the Escape Plan and it seems like the mark stays for ~1.5 seconds. Probably wont effect the game too much... we'll see.

On face value I'm loving this update. I hope it's as good as it seems. Might want to test some stuff like the gunslinger to see if the nerf made it unbannable.

Is it just me or does the bleed screen not look THAT different?

Here's a shitty screenshot from my stream a bit ago:

It's still pretty red, but before it was redic.

Edit: I just tested the Escape Plan and it seems like the mark stays for ~1.5 seconds after being holstered. Probably wont effect the game too much... we'll see.

Edit 2: Nevermind the Gunslinger still spawns with full health (which was the main problem IMO). Still, maybe some other weapons are worth giving a try.

#13 An Abrupt Farewell to You All in Off Topic

Even though you're not asking for donations, I'd like to know your paypal so I can donate some money to help out just a bit. I'll even put your info on my stream in case anyone else is interested in helping out. Even though we might not be able to help much with the money situation, seeing a bit of money appear in your bank account every so often might help brighten the situation.
