The fix will be ready as soon as I finish rewriting all of the StatusSpec headers, which is a painful job that I've been putting off.

From what I've heard (I'm not a veteran so I couldn't tell you), they used to only schedule the first two weeks, and then the remaining six weeks were done by the same week-by-week scheduling done right now for the last four weeks.
Why they moved to the four-week initial scheduling period is unknown to anyone around here - you'd have to ask ESEA.
smoboHonest question, why doesn't ESEA schedule by rank every week like other leagues do? Everyone would get closer matches after two or three weeks of randomness. Fewer matches would get scheduled against dead teams, and potentially fewer teams would get rolled and demoralized.
They do schedule by ranking, but it's a bit delayed. They schedule four weeks at the beginning of the season, which is similar to the randomness you'd see at the beginning in a true Swiss system, and then they schedule based on your current standings a week in advance, so your Week 5/6/7/8 matches are determined by your standing at the beginning of Week 4/5/6/7.
Of course, a team may very well die due to the week or more delay, but matches have to be assigned that far in advance since the scheduling window begins exactly a week before the match start and ends exactly 24 hours before the match start.
ESEA Divisions has been updated. Notable changes include:
- change of the sorting framework
- automatic sorting by ESEA playoff criteria (percentage, rounds for, rounds against)
- fix of abbreviations - hover on header to view long description
- addition of games played, forfeit wins, and forfeit losses
In addition, ESEA Registration Statistics has been updated to show a countdown to the roster lock for this season, which is less than two weeks away.
Did you enable any of the modules via their console variables? Nothing is enabled by default.
Iso pretty much laid it all down for us.
I feel bad as a team leader because of the fact that we're a 4-8 team that should really be 0-12 or similar when you don't count the forfeit wins and the 6v5 (we've already rescheduled two 6v5 matches this season, but I feel worse that we weren't able to do this one since it would have been a better game 6v6). At the end of the day I'm quite lucky to have kept the team alive, with our lineup being radically different now compared to what we were expecting going into the season. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the team alive without forfeiting a single match this season, which is one of my foremost goals. At the same time, I feel like I've failed in that we haven't gotten any meaningful results this season and legitimately could be called the worst team in Open, which falls upon my shoulders as a team leader. I wish there would be something I could do to help us get that first real round win, that first real match win, but we're constrained by overlapping schedules that only allow us to have two full scrim days and no time to review.
I do have to say that ESEA PUGs have been an unexpected boon (despite the fact that they wreck my sleep schedule). Thanks to everyone who keeps them going.
pl3xSecondly, HL is the future of comp TF2. Valve will NOT, imo, support fully any competitive option that blocks so much of their game. I would think that they would rather have all of the classes in play at once, each showcasing their own important traits, especially if they're going to show comp to newer players. I mean, if you have valid reasons, pull em out and let's have another thread-long debate about it, but in another thread, and I think that argument has played out too many times for it to be useful.
Let's not presume to know what Valve will or will not do. For all we know they're wiling to make major balance changes in order to promote the usage of classes because they realize that Highlander is not logistically feasible as a major format.
KillingThese are pretty sick. Gonna make my job a lot easier. Thanks
If you have any suggestions, let me know.
drakI'm sorry to piggyback here, but could someone help me: I'm unable to "Find Match" for TF2 pugs (through the ESEA client), and it says "The selected game is currently unsupported."
Am I missing something?
The ESEA MM system is only for CS:GO. You have to manually join a PUG server from the server tab to play in TF2 PUGs.
I crawl a JSON-formatted version of the ESEA website.
noplsThis is kinda obvious but Valve should consider incorporating StatusSpec into TF2's spectating code.
At the very least they could offer to sign the plugin.
They should also add P-REC functionality directly into TF2. As far as I know there's still no P-REC equivalent on Linux or Mac.
StatusSpec is at best a hack, so I doubt it will be. It would be better to fix the underlying issues and keep the new functionality in a separate plugin, since it doesn't have much relevance in-game to 99% of players.
As for P-REC, I did email them about a cross-game/cross-platform version, but have yet to receive a response. We'll see.
Aagh, looks like an issue with how I had to implement it. It should display a longer description on hover, but I guess not.
For quick reference, SOS = strength of schedule, ER = experience rating, and RPCT = round win percentage. All others should mirror the ESEA website.
I am happy to finally announce that a new tool is being released in beta: ESEA Divisions.
It displays extra stats about teams such as strength of schedule statistics and experience ratings. This tool is subject to change, so please let me know of any issues that arise or feedback that you have.
It seems like everything that can happen to our roster, will happen to our roster.
We're looking for a long-term sub for one of our players. We can probably shift our roster around to accommodate, so any and all classes are encouraged to try out. If you're interested, add me and let's talk. Thanks for your interest and support!
