#211 StatusSpec in Projects

I am working on developing the next (and possibly final) release of StatusSpec, which should be released within a week. Most significantly, it will include the camera smoothing feature introduced at LAN, and is targeted to include another module currently in development and optimizations for the current HUD panels.

If you have any suggestions for features or tweaks to be made for this release, I would greatly appreciate them. Thanks for your support over the past year.

#7 Behind the Scenes: TF2 Production in News

I forgot to include credits... they've been added now.

Thanks again to everyone. Originally I had just planned on posting a small summary on my website and leaving it at that, but dashner encouraged me to create a full-length article and post it on TFTV.

Writing this article was definitely fun and eye-opening, and I'd love to do it again, so if you have other behind-the-scenes stuff that you'd like to see, let me know!

Registration extended a week. MAKE THOSE TEAMS HAPPEN.

#87 ESEA S19 League Thread in News

Note that ESEA generally (by which I mean "in past seasons") has a very short grace period for teams to get fully paid up after the registration deadline expires.

DO NOT RELY ON THIS, but if there is no way for your team to get fully paid (including the possibilities of paying for your teammates) before the deadline expires, it's probably worth it to at least pay up part of your team and get six on your roster. You can either then get the rest of your team paid up with the little extra time you have, or you'll get refunded by ESEA and your team removed from playing this season.

According to Shooter, Granary is staying in.

#39 ESEA S19 in TF2 General Discussion

Just a reminder - registration ends Wednesday at midnight! There are only 92 players and 4 full teams paid up right now in Open. If you're not one of them and are planning to play, it's highly recommended to get signed up and paid up well before the deadline.

#9 STV Camera Smoothing in TF2 General Discussion
DavidTheWinThe only issues we know of so far are occasional viewmodel issues until the viewmodel animation changes i.e. reload/shooting/change weapon etc.

As far as I know that got (very messily) fixed with the version I hacked together last night. The algorithm is far from perfect (and may never be as good as CS:GO's since I wrote it from scratch), but I think it can get better if the situations where switches are happening that shouldn't be are identified more clearly.

#10 Steam now has Limited Accounts in TF2 General Discussion

They've had limited accounts before (my feeble memory seems to remember having restrictions on my own account back in 2011), but previously you could upgrade an account by gifting it any game, even if you got that game for 10 cents in a Steam sale.

Obviously this is a win-win for Valve, as they will get more funds from each account made now and combat the bot menace in one fell sweep, but legitimate bot makers will certainly be harmed with the costs of starting and expanding a service several times higher.

#24 ESEA Tools in Projects

All of the tools are down because the server could not handle the load that was being put on it. They'll be down until I can find a more permanent solution, but at the moment it's looking like the only option is a server upgrade that I can't afford right now.

Knuckles_When can I drop my cash for IM fees? And how much will it be?

Whenever they do moveups, which I would hope is this week. IM fees are $14.95 this season.

#30 Why can't we add a button? in TF2 General Discussion

It's been almost two years since we last heard from Valve what they thought. Let's not be presumptuous to think that their mind hasn't changed at all in that time.

#45 TeamFortressTV is looking for talent! in News
nopeWould you guys be interested in people writing about non EU/NA leagues? I'm not saying I could do it, I'm too bad at this game atm, but I think regular articles about asiafortress/ozfortress/south american games, leagues and players would be really interesting and something I'd read.

Of course.

#30 TeamFortressTV is looking for talent! in News

If you have any questions about the positions, feel free to post them here and I'll try to answer them!

b4stianHow much of these HUD-development spots are open? Would love doing some HUD-related stuff in my free time for Teamfortress.tv.

We're not looking for too many, but we will add as many as we need or can handle and keep everyone else in mind for the future.

MapleAny reason why you only want writers for EU? Is it because you already have enough NA people?

We've generally got great coverage for NA leagues (UGC HL Platinum + ESEA), which is why we're mainly looking for EU writers, but if you've got ideas for new content that doesn't fall under league coverage, feel free to let us know and apply!
