NukeydogMake sure you disable Windows Aero when you run windowed, it causes mouse lag.
For nvidia cards: Force disable vsync in drivers.
For ati/amd cards: Force disabling vsync does nothing. nothing. in windows 7. not sure about vista, but it's probably the same. having flash, other games, emulators, etc open can also cause input lag, if they enable vsync. if anything running causes vsync to be enabled you'll get input lag, period, unless you run fullscreen. aero enables vsync itself, which is the cause of a lot of problems.
Fighting soldiers is all about engaging when you have an advantage and refusing giving the advantage up, and not letting them engage with you otherwise. I know that playing as soldier, shutting down scouts tends to be about refusing to let them get a hold of anything on me, like positioning health etc, else I'm screwed. Soldier vs scout is similar to quake dueling, in an indirect sense, because whoever has the advantage will probably win out even if they make mistakes. Don't stalemate spam against a soldier if you don't have backup, because that's a form of engagement and they're likely to win. If you're forced into a disadvantageous encounter with a soldier, it's all about being as much of an asshole as possible, not matter what - depends entirely on their skillset.

It /is/ carnage, but it's a good example that twitching is important; though prediction tracking also is. 100% mechanical aiming is bound to fail unless you have godlike reflexes and a hardware advantage.

the font is source sans pro black, which I chose over chunkfive (rxp's font) because when I was polling around my friends list people consistently liked it vs chunkfive was homerun-or-foul
