the301stspartanWho even is ever in the purple square?

The Libertarian Party in the US would be firmly in the purple, very socially liberal but also very fiscally conservative. They were actually in favor of LGBT rights before the Democrats were (back when they were formed in the 70s) but they're even more about no regulation of the economy than Republicans.

Herr_PIs it just me or is this test shitty as fuck?

It isn't specific with what political camp your results make you fall in, but I think the questions are sound and it gives a basic overview of your position.

Like for example the question about whether you think children should sometimes be spanked or not is there, I'm guessing, because it has been shown that people that believe strongly in discipline of children also tend to have authoritarian views.

https://www.politicalcompass.org/test

My impression based on the current US presidential race and the Brexit vote in the UK is that there is a distinct shift towards socially conservative authoritarian viewpoints in some Western countries, which I believe I've seen reflected on tftv. I'm rather interested to see the political standpoint of average tftv users, so if you're interested take this short test and post your results here!

EmilioEstevezI'm not sure if you're actually stupid or just pretending. Left and right are relative terms, if you are to the left of the majority of the population you are on the left.

Sure u can use them as relative terms in one country but as far as politics around the world go, democrats are firmly in the right.

I'm not going to bother trying to have a conversation with u anymore ur laughably stuck in ur own world view.

ur actually braindead. The mainstream democratic party isn't even to the left, they're just less to the right than republicans. Sanders supporters are the ONLY left (well besides the small green party) in the US.

EmilioEstevezIt's also weird how you guys are pro NAFTA and TPP when even Hillary opposes them these days and has said they were bad for American workers (after she championed them when they were being proposed).

wtf are u talking about literally every Bernie delegate was shouting "NO TPP" throughout the entire DNC lmao.

eeeEven in his demographics, he faces opposition from Gary Johnson. In fact, you're looking at what could be the first election where places like Atlanta or Houston manage to turn their solid red state blue just from a high minority or low white voter turnout. If any of the conservative states like GA or TX get flipped, its almost guaranteed to be a loss for Trump. Considering Texas has been 48-52 for the past two elections and Georgia has been 45-55, it isn't too out of the realm for an outsider like Johnson to just spoil the entire thing for the GOP

I find it really hard to believe that Texas or Georgia could ever vote anything besides Republican. Do you have a source on this?

sacFrom one faggot to another (since you think he s "anti-LGBT) maybe you should have seen the speech on security he made after Omar "put a mag in every fag" went on a rampage (a registered democrat btw) and Trump was the first who included pro-lgbt points in his republican nomination speech.

Mike Pence has been extremely anti-LGBT doing such things as:

- Supported a constitutional amendment to ban marriage equality
- Opposed the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell.
- Wanted to stop funding HIV prevention and instead put the money towards conversion therapy.
- SIGNED A BILL THAT WOULD FUCKING JAIL GAY PEOPLE WHO APPLIED FOR A MARRIAGE LISCENCE IN INDIANA

Trump has also put out a list of potential supreme court justice nominees that include such people as:

- Judge Diane Sykes who ruled that a student group was allowed to discriminate against gay people and still receive public funding.
- Justice Don Willett who regularly mocks LGBT people on twitter making tweets talking about how he'd support “a constitutional right to marry bacon” and tweeting “go away A-rod” in response to California's law that allows transgender high school students to play on sports teams of their corresponding gender identity.
- Judge William H. Pryor Jr. who refused to even hear a challenge to Florida's law that banned gay people from adopting.

In short, if you think a Trump administration would be anything but highly anti-LGBT you're fooling yourself. Oh and lastly, in regards to his supposedly pro-lgbt point in his nomination speech Trump said:

"As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ* citizens from the violence and oppression of the hateful foreign ideology"

You don't have to be a genius to realize that this is pandering to socially liberal people who might vote for Trump while still keeping all the bigots in the Republican party happy by keeping the focus on how evil foreigners are. This isn't even something unique from Trump – after the Orlando shooting plenty of religious right wingers tried to say that Muslims are the true enemies of LGBT people in America, which is laughable considering all the religious right wing groups that have worked tirelessly to make sure that LGBT people don't have equal rights in America. It's just a strategy to try and gain some votes, but Trump's VP pick and the people he's said he'll elect clearly shows his attitude towards LGBT people.

*he struggled to even say this properly if you watched the speech

terabyteid rather have an idiot than a felon AND an idiot

Policy wise Hillary would just be Obama 2.0 and as far as diplomacy goes it's hard to see her as not better than Trump, which covers the two major roles of the president. This sentiment that Trump is bad but Hillary is worse is something I've heard a lot, but it usually comes from people who have been Republicans their whole life so they agree more with the anti-LGBT, fiscally conservative, socially conservative etc. policies that Trump touts. The interesting thing is that there's actually a small portion of people who haven't voted Republican in the past that have somehow decided that Trump is better than Hillary, which is why Trump is able to contest her despite having even less minority votes than is normal for a Republican candidate.

In short we might get fucked because of people jumping on the Hillary hate bandwagon without actually considering the consequences of a Trump presidency: a conservative supreme court which would probably result in some terrible anti-LGBT stuff and almost certainly would result in anti-abortion laws as well as having a laughably bad head diplomat (diplomacy with foreign leaders is actually one of the most important roles of a president and it's weird that no one ever thinks about how terrible Trump would be at it).

She's improved a lot over her last couple seasons of open, definitely deserving of a high open team that won't implode mid-season.
