#1 CS:GO update for 2/15/18 (2/16/18 UTC, 1.36.2.7) in CS2 General Discussion

Blog post (with images of the contents of both cases): http://blog.counter-strike.net/index.php/2018/02/20073/

------------------------

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[ CLUTCH CASE AND COMMUNITY CAPSULE 2018 ]
– Introducing the Clutch Case, featuring 17 community-designed weapon finishes and 24 new glove finishes.
– Introducing Community Capsule 2018, featuring 8 community-designed stickers.

[ AUDIO ]
– Added “snd_stream” option convar. Enabling this disables using audio cache and instead streams audio off disk.

[ MISC ]
– Fixed occasional crash when dropping Medi-Shots.
– Fixed ammo count not updating when dropping stack-able items like Medi-Shots.
– Updated the following weapon finishes:
— AK-47 | Frontside Misty
— M4A1-S | Chantico’s Fire

[ MAPS ]
Nuke
– Offset stairs by control room near bombsite B
– Removed some unintended positions on crane in bombsite A
– Fixed some minor bugs

Rumor has it:

- CS:GO Stash should have inventory images and Steam Community Market links up within a while, remain patient

- You can also grab images of the stickers from here: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-CSGO/commit/f63831c492d05fd69a5c50685164e914152bc2c7

- Did you know that the Steam Datagram system configuration was recently compacted considerably thanks to a format change? It's been locally synced as of this update, so if you're polling network_config.json for purposes such as making a utility to cut off access to certain clusters, have a look at Valve's new configuration format and update accordingly to make sure stuff doesn't break

- Size is ~135 MB

#1 TF2 update for 2/14/18 in TF2 General Discussion

Via the Steam store:

Valve- Ended the Jungle Inferno Campaign
- Added a contracts-only pass to allow players who did not participate in the Jungle Inferno Campaign to access the Jungle Inferno contracts. This pass does not grant campaign-specific perks such as the enhanced Casual Badge.

Rumor has it:

- Do you use Avira as your antivirus protection? Have you noticed that everyone has become Sona Buvel-uh, I mean, silent? It may have falsely detected "mssmp3.asi" as malicious. Go grab it out of your quarantine, and everyone should get their voices back (thanks to /u/DatBoi73, /u/justaponyfan, and others for the reports)

- With this more official end to Jungle Inferno, the three main menu tracks have been taken out of the game too, and the news button in-game now just tells you to read the blog

#1 CS:GO update for 2/9/18 (2/10/18 UTC, 1.36.2.6) in CS2 General Discussion

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[MISC]
– Fixed a bug with the Medi-Shot that caused its ammo count and usage to be broken.

Rumor has it:

- Other than that, all this update seems to be otherwise to be is just a local sync of last night's item schema update that mirrored the fixed P90 description and Easy Peasy Pin image. No, literally, I'm not even kidding (other than the usual steam.inf numbers change)

- Size will likely appear as 0 bytes for most

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[ GAMEPLAY ]
– Enabled shotgun spread patterns on official matchmaking servers as described in http://blog.counter-strike.net/index.php/holiday-spread/

[ MISC ]
– Co-op Strike, Wingman, and Flying Scoutsman tags have been added to the workshop, so map authors can now tag their maps as playable in those modes.
– Co-op Strike, Wingman, and Flying Scoutsman tagged maps can now be launched into those modes from the Workshop tabs in game.
– Added a map place-able entity (vgui_world_text_panel) that allows mappers to put floating, localizable text in their map without needing custom res files.
– Added vscript function named ScriptPrintMessageCenterAllWithParams which requires 3 params that get inserted into the localization token at the %s1’s.
– CGamePlayerEquip now handles picking up healthshots and now respects max carry for grenades.
– Disabled sv_allowupload by default. If enabled, the filter restricting potentially malicious file types has been expanded.

– For tournament organizers, the old version of Nuke is available on the Workshop.

Canals:
– Closed off windows overlooking courtyard and A
– Cleaned up sightline from corner balcony toward A and Arch

Shipped Release Notes

[ CO-OP STRIKE ]
– When players complete a custom co-op mission, it now restarts the map at the end of intermission instead of sitting at a black screen.
– Fixed barrel exploding particle effect relying on a specific map’s effects and now has it’s own unique effects.
– Slightly increased barrel explode radius.
– Added mp_heavybot_damage_reduction_scale convar which allows maps/missions to adjust how much damage heavy bots can take.
– Various fixes to the Heavy Assault Suit in Co-op Strike mode to allow it to work like it used to in that mode.
– Exposed some convars to allow Co-op Strike (and other modes) to adjust the Heavy Assault Suit (mp_weapons_allow_heavyassaultsuit, mp_heavyassaultsuit_speed, mp_heavyassaultsuit_deploy_timescale, mp_heavyassaultsuit_aimpunch).

Rumor has it:

- Want a peek at today's Nuke changes? They were showcased on the cs_summit2 stream, complete with reactions and commentary from the couch crew including James Bardolph, n0thing, JamezIRL, Fifflaren, and Sean Gares
- In a rush? On a data capped mobile connection? Twitch being weird while loading? You can also view an album of the Nuke changes here, which was assembled by /u/KPC51

- Some Mac OS X/macOS users have reported troubles involving crashing with this update. If you're affected, grab update #2

- Various script changes, as well as an updated Nuke thumbnail: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-CSGO/commit/6aa70af551cf93e7738bd80d8c0100ad04b048ac
- The P90 description typo has finally been fixed

#1 TF2 Blog: "Jungle Inferno News" in TF2 General Discussion

http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=36910

TF2 TeamThe Jungle Inferno Campaign will be officially coming to an end this Sunday, February 11th. But don't despair -- Jungle Inferno contracts will continue to be available for existing pass owners. The ConTracker will continue tracking your progress, and you'll still have access to the exclusive items in the Mercenary Park Gift Shop. You'll have to say goodbye to the Jungle Inferno main menu theme and the Special Events matchmaking category, but you'll still be able to play all of the Jungle Inferno maps. Each map will move to the appropriate matchmaking group based on its game mode. Now get back to taunting complete strangers!

#1 CS:GO update for late 1/22/18 (1/23/18, 1.36.2.3) in CS2 General Discussion

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[ BOSTON 2018 PICK’EM CHALLENGE ]
Enabled playoff Pick’Em bracket for Boston 2018 Major Championship. Build your bracket and predict all Quarterfinal, Semifinal, and Grand Final winners. You’ll earn 12 points for each correct Quarterfinal pick, 10 points for each correct Semifinal pick, and 7 points for picking the Grand Final winner. All brackets will be locked at 9 AM Eastern Time on Friday January 26 before the first playoff matches start, so make sure your bracket is ready!

[ MISC ]
Fixed an unlocalized string in GOTV timeout UI, which now will show total number of timeouts allowed and how many timeouts a team has taken.

Rumor has it:

- Pick'Em picks for the ELEAGUE Boston 2018 main event are open! You have until Friday morning at (or around, because official notes) 7:45 AM CST/8:45 AM EST/1345 UTC to make your selections.

- Points have been awarded server-side for your group stage picks - share your results!

- There's also some Canals texture updates (it's internally referred to as Venice): https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-CSGO/commit/b39401e08a24c8e7c48caa744a3d6871b573a0aa

#1 CS:GO update for 1/19/18 (1/20/18 UTC) in CS2 General Discussion

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[ MISC ]

– Added a convar tv_playcast_delay_resync, which allows users who occasionally lose their GOTV+ connection to increase the delay before a stream re-sync is attempted. Generally this should not be set higher than tv_playcast_retry_timeout.

– Fixed inertia problems in model compiler when low precision errors could lead to bad rotation inertia. Mappers will need to recompile their models to have a higher rotation inertia precision.

any other euros going? hmu and we'll make a EU open team

Will probably come out for a week though so I can actually see some of LA rather than flying straight home;

305 quid to go across the pond, and then some, and back? I'm jealous. To do the same from Winnipeg would be at least $650.
