#6 TF2/SFM Blog: "The Seventh Annual Saxxy Awards!" in TF2 General Discussion
Hermann_von_SalsaSmin2017 Saxxy Awards with a due date in 2018? Well played valve
I assume it was Update's fault why it's so late
Tho it's still kinda dissapointing :/

It would probably be the fault of their Lincoln Square Expansion move in September, which would've been about when they would've announced it in past years. By the way, now that they're there, the Best Overall winners will be the first winners to see the new space.

TF2 & SFM TeamIt's time to announce the Saxxy Awards for 2017, and we couldn't be more excited!

We can't wait to see what variety of amazing videos you create! Don't forget that all Valve universes are available for use, and SFM shorts that were submitted to the Dota Short Film Contest are also eligible for this year's Saxxy Awards. The submission deadline is March 8th, 2018, but as always, we'd like to remind you that you can upload non-final versions up to a week in advance of the final deadline, to guard against last-minute computer failures, internet outages, YouTube login problems, etc.

Check out the guidelines for details on the rules and deadlines, and get your entries ready!

Rumor has it:

#1 CS:GO update for 12/1/17 (1.36.1.7) in CS2 General Discussion

Via the CS:GO blog:

Valve[ AUDIO ]

-Fixed an exploit that allowed ambient sounds to be completely disabled.

[ MISC ]
-Re-enabled SSE4 optimizations for string tables and added -nosse4 command line option to disable SSE4.
-“find” console command now allows specifying multiple search strings. For example, “find decal r_” will find commands and variables that contain both “r_” and “decal”.

- Size is ~20 MB

– Updated trust algorithm based on data and feedback.

To help us further improve the Trust Factor, send us an email at CSGOTeamFeedback@valvesoftware.com with the subject “Trust Factor Feedback” and include a description of your experience and your Steam ID.

Rumor has it:

- Looks like we're getting Series 3 pins at some point: https://github.com/SteamDatabase/GameTracking-CSGO/commit/c096a217e607242f7ab687a3a24ac8df7134525f

- New pins include:

- Canals Pin
- Welcome to the Clutch Pin
- Death Sentence Pin
- Inferno 2 Pin
- Wildfire Pin
- Easy Peasy Pin

- Brigadier General Pin
- Unfortunately, no images have been included for these in the files or in the item schema, so we don't know what they look like until Valve releases them somewhere, but I'm sure your imagination will give you a good idea of what will be the real thing in the meantime. Sorry!

#12 TF2 update for 11/8/17 (11/9/17 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion
Stochast1cCornpop16wickedplayer494- Scream Fortress IX continues for a little while longer, but get a move on! Expiry dates have been added to the contracts in the ConTracker.
Anyone know what these dates are? I've been stuffed with midterms the past 3 weeks so haven't been able to do too many. Last midterm's tomorrow tho so hopfully still time for me to grind them out.
contractsExpires 2017-11-09 00:00:00
No idea what timezone they are referring to, probably PT, so they really didn't extend it that much.

Just found out it's based on system time. You can set it back a day and the game won't even question it even if you do it while it's running.
