ScrewballMagnetic dust filter?
ty I will look into that
ScrewballDEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 400 is pretty cheap and still offers 775 compatibility
seems good for the price. plastic screws and separated heat pipes but probably a lot of cooling @ $26 cad

1. Not sure how a PC would help. At best it won't create any more dust so it won't make it worse, but it'll definitely not help.
Dust filters a pretty standard these days so it won't push as much dust around the room as without them but even if you clean them fairly often I don't think that's the way to deal with your dust allergy.
So my skin gets worse when I turn on my PC. The side which is closer to the PC will get more irritated. It just itches and I get rash above my eyes, ears and hairline. All I know is my PC circulating air around the room makes it worse.
SetsulDo you know what exactly you're allergic to? Dust mites, cockroaches, mold, pollen, animal hair/fur, something weird or all of them?
I'm not certain.
I have had an allergy test and it said that I'm allergic to dust mites, pollen, dogs+cats. I don't believe its pollen (not the main thing), and its not animal hair (I only have fish for obvious reasons), not cockroaches (there are none).
It could be mold (I live in a damp climate, and my house has a green roof above the workshop that leaks, gets repaired, leaks etc. I've put up a temporary roof up but its not perfect. I also have underfloor heating using water pipes. Water features, cedar roof. I've had many leaks before. There's lot of things that is potentially an issue). I haven't seen mold spores or anything obvious. I don't know if I'm allergic to mold (+there are many types etc).
I get triggered if I don't change my pillowcase every day, make my bed. foam earphones are awful.
I haven't had this issue my whole life, more like the last 4 years.
If I had to guess: Dust > mold > foam/latex.
steroid cream helps a lot, but not something I want to be reliant on.
I would move, but its very difficult and will cost me 100k so I would rather exhaust all other options first.
I have moved my computer into its own room. It sits on the floor as far away from me as possible, which is better than on my desk but maybe a box or something would be better.
I have a metal desk, leather chair, hard mousepad, and my electronics. I have wood floors, no wallpaper, no air vents. There is a box of tissues :> which I might get rid of and cream for my skin, nothing else in the room. It's on the lower floor of my house which seems worse.
Housekeeper cleans my room. I've told her to change products. I clean my PC often with a leafblower.
My pc has stock dust filters on intake (fractal design r5), 2 intake fans with the door closed. I've removed the exhaust fan. It has a noctua nh-d14 with 2 fans. its hard to clean the heatsink because it's so large. I've changed from static overclock to dynamic to reduce fan speeds on idle.
Setsul2. Any slightly older cooler will be fine. Most Thermalright should still be compatible (e.g. Macho or True Spirit 120/140), the classics like some Enermax ETS-T40 variation and so on.
Not sure how much you're willing to spend and how much you need to spend, did you use the liquid cooling to achieve some crazy power hungry overclock?
Then you'd want something bigger. NH-D14, Silver Arrow and PH-TC14PE are all compatible.
it was overclocked, 4.1ghz at 1.55v, still ran fairly hot on liquid. it's been higher like 4.4ghz but not stable. I had a crappy aio liquid cooler before and it would hit deep 90s/thermal shutdown at my goal of 4ghz lmao.
As far as my goals now, I'll be happy if its stable at stock clock (3ghz). I don't care much about the performance of this PC anymore as long as she runs.
I was considering a more expensive cooler that can be used in the future (eg:NH-D15 with adapter), but probably not worth it. I could use the NH-D14 from my main pc and get a new cooler for that which is better with dust if such a thing makes any difference.
I think my best option is a cheap cooler that is sufficient.
