not the rework we need, but the rework we deserve

#363 update is released in TF2 General Discussion
  • Airblasting players now factors in the momentum of the Pyro and target, giving both more control over the interaction
  • Airblast now causes the target player to have reduced footing and air control for a short period, rather than losing all control
  • Now factors in the upward angle of the airblast, rather than having a fixed upward force

holy shit

Finniganthese are not things that most people care about or will focus on, considering that the pyro update just got announced

if the only bit of content we've seen out of valve so far for this entire update is pretty mediocre, it really isn't doing a good job of quelling the fear that the rest of the update will be mediocre, too

some of the maps look neat, but they're community-created so that doesn't speak to the quality of the rest of the update.

obviously we'll have to wait and see, but... it's not a good sign imo.

MMSyoure too picky, it look like any other update sfm

maybe i'm picky because i've used SFM extensively?

expiration date had noticeably better lighting, model quality, and overall animation quality, let alone a real plot

fuck dude even the love and war 30 second clip was better quality

look I'm hoping the update is good, I really really want it to be, but it's pretty obvious the people that worked on TF2 shorts in the past are long gone now

zanano?

the lighting in the jungle scene was mediocre at best, all the characters besides scout and hale just reused ingame voice lines, and the yeti model is absolutely atrocious

it feels like it wasn't ready but they had to roll with it

#390 yttrium's competitive viewmodels in Customization
boubakarHi,

Is there any way to get this working for Mac? It's pretty sad even with programs such as Wine we cannot be able to enjoy your mod.

Maybe you can tell us exactly which files in which folders we have to replace in order to recreate the same effect your mod does?

Thanks for your time.

The issue is that Valve's studiomdl and vpk (but mainly studiomdl) binaries don't exist for OS X or Linux. They're 100% a required step for customization. There's nothing I can do about that besides build it for you and give you the instructions on how to install it - or you could just do it yourself on a Windows install and copy it over.

CanasAfter installing it both my chrouch jump and null movement script don't work, is there any fix?

Doublecheck your autoexec. The installer modifies it. Might have removed something unintentionally.

Wow this is like really good. Blizzard-style in talking about the issue, goal for improvement, and changes.

Cornpop16barefoot_banditThis update will make or break comp 6sThat's what they said last update, which turned out to be garbage, and we're all still here.

to be fair now we have what's basically a changelist

except for pyro...

#91 Who is the best tf2 caster of all time and why in TF2 General Discussion
TomSkirretteXtine
Because of his dedication to the game and the community for such a long time. For years he has put out casts, special feature videos, his work with Sal and Pyyyour, yyyaaaooo vlog, attendance to LANs, endorsing fundraisers, advocating tf2 to Valve and sponsors, etc.
He's a fun caster, if not the most technical or precise, but overall involvement with the community makes him the best in my mind.

Don't forget he has Portland's tastiest balls.

TAKE CARE, COMB YA HAIR

Various_HorsesKip - the only caster I really miss, while Sal's style has been imitated fairly well by a bunch of new casters Kip's casts were insanely fun to watch, even especially when they were low level highlander matches, she'd be my pick for most underrated caster.

Shit I miss Kip
