Recently bought the FC700R brown switches. Amazing keyboard - though if you want the numpad get the FC500R (I think?).
Great simplicity and functionality with build quality.
Not sure how much it costs in the US, but I spent $120 AUD.

Baldurs Gate, Planescape: Torment, The Longest Journey, Skyroads, System Shock 2, Deus Ex, any total war game (Rome I suppose, re: multiplayer also), Monkey Island, Freelancer (though is part multiplayer so w/e), Homeworld.
Sorry this wasn't one game - it was a bunch. But I loved them all.
I was waiting for someone to post the fake Morgan Freeman quote. Sure you can somewhat put the blame on the media for potentially inspiring copycats due to sensationalism, but that doesn't change the facts. Accessibility of guns vs access to mental health/treatment.
If anything, the medias part in the story is the lesser of the three(lol) evils.
#45 to be fair he was just gathering thoughts and not asking people how to play the game - there's nothing wrong with merely gathering input and creating discussion o_O
It's one thing to get input, and it's another to solely follow the input of others as opposed to merely taking it on board and coming to one's own conclusion. Yes it depends on your team and how they want you/whole to play and also your own general playstyle, and not a "one size fits all" like some people think.
Shotgun really helps you in your dueling ability (no shit). Can also weaken your bombs in one area, and strengthen them in another (ie - greater killing power vs less damage taken per rj?).
It often comes down to playstyle (both on your end and your team's). From previous experience, the roamer in my team likes using shotgun a fair amount due to that extra dueling prowess as he often can find himself alone and not really with scouts, which is entirely dependent on situation but often the case regardless.
To quote him from his "roamer" thread on ozfortress:
It is entirely personal preference when to use a loadout - however I think there are some "general rules" which I apply to my own game. I almost never have gunboats equipped when defending badlands last, or in some situations on granary last (such as if we have uber disad and are going to backcap). I rarely use gunboats in granary phase play - unless there is significant advantage on either team, or if I know that we will be forced back across mid point. I often switch to shotgun if the game is playing slowly - as while gunboats are often about forcing a situation, if the game is especially slow then you are more than likely going to get yourself killed with little gain. These are just a few examples and really only reflect the way I like to play - but it's something that everyone should definitely be considering. Don't get stuck with gunboats on 24/7 - and you don't have to tell everyone on your team 5 times when you're switching.
Yeah, ok. I think I'll do that. Thanks a lot for the quick and useful responses :)
Price isn't the issue - though I've heard the wait for the modmic is absurd. Had a friend waiting a month or so to receive his before he got it.
Will think about it. Thanks for input.
Basically I need a new microphone. I currently use a G35 that sits on my desk, with it occasionally going around my neck. It's fairly good quality but I'm getting sick of lugging it around when I only use it as a microphone.
I've heard mixed things about the modmic, and also the zm mic 1. Can people vouch for either of these/other microphones? I don't even care if it's a desk microphone. I'm not looking for a studio microphone or anything absurd like that - just something that will do the job for a reasonable price.
Thanks.
At my call center job and the first call I get verbally abused (along the lines of fucking retard) for other people's mistakes.
She then proceeded to call up 20-30 times before she finally showed reason and actually described the issue she was having. Some people :/
Haha, that's awesome. Props for being generous and in general a baller. :)
edit: sorry- thread highjack
Trying to find an IME 3.0 as I haven't used one for years and really liked them. Anyone know of any online stores or whatever that sell them? Can only find a few on eBay but they seem "questionable" at best.
Fresh out of NS and CS semi competitively (and WoW I suppose), I jumped into TF2 and the first thing I played was 2fort instaspawn. This was where I spent the majority of my time, as well as a large amount of medic pub bitch healing the top fragger. Go forward a bit and I stumbled upon the Reptile frag video, which made me want to actually get into the comp side of TF2.
I started playing a lot of pub as soldier and was eventually asked to join a team by "aim superstar" lottic (who some of you may know of). I spent most of my time in random New Zealand teams playing at dinner time much to my mother's stress. It took a while before I joined an actual notable team, intensity, and played with someone that I have played with ever since (someone that I'm sure you all know): sheep.
I've spent a lot of time since 2007 playing this game and I don't regret a minute (apart from when I didn't apply to join a team in '08 and instead briefly left for WoW :/).
Hi there!
Yeah, it's one of these again. Now I have capable internet to stream (And settings that aren't COMPLETE shit), I'm able to stream as some of you know if you have been watching me. I've decided that I'll do some demo reviews in an attempt to "give" to the community because doing things for the community is fun.
I come off as an asshole at times, but my usual frustration is with teams that just have shitty attitudes when it comes to getting better. When it comes down to it I'm fairly reasonable and actually not bad to talk to (bar making stupid noises every 3 seconds). It's more convenient to do it this way as I'm already mentoring some people and others can see how I view the game (especially when watching from someone elses perspective).
I suppose that's besides the point and I'm going on too much of a tangent as usual. Post demos here and I'll try and go over them in my spare time. If you cant watch it live there will be vods on my twitch channel.
edit: I am generally better at helping medic/soldier/demo (I am most proficient with these classes) but I can advise scout just as well.
That seems to have fixed it for now. Will keep an eye on it for a little while.
Thanks
