Both have different kits to get shit done. Pug both, maybe do some tryouts (if available) as both classes.
Soldier is probably easier to get into because it's much easier to protect yourself and others with rockets. Not only that, but with the surging popularity of gunboats on roamers AND pockets can allow for slightly easier "big plays" to be executed.

I was thinking of buying a new PC really soon. So, Setsul and co, you think I should wait a little bit (mostly in regards to GPU)? I was tossing up between a 980 ti and a Fury X but now I'm not so sure anymore :(
EDIT: I suppose the alternative is to keep my 970 until the new stuff drops? Was planning on selling.

A 2600k at 4.4 should still provide good fps, especially at 1024x768!
When you say dips, can you elaborate? Even if you have capped fps it doesn't ALWAYS stay right at 144 even if your computer is from NASA. Rather, I'll rephrase - DO you have fps capped?
What values do you get in a midfight with fps_max 0 enabled?
