#5 Neverwinter in Off Topic

Did they release a major content patch to make the game go from being crap to not crap?

I played the beta (alpha?) a month or two ago and I wasn't really impressed at all.

tornados2111Does anyone's console not work now? it's a big white box, same with the server browser. Validating didn't help

I can't believe I still have this silly image. Not really relevant.

But as people have said previously, unfortunately we need ESEA more than they "need" us (probably).

nemoanyway i think yuki on scout is not the best idea

When I was asked, my first response went something along the lines of... "For the best interests of both parties, you should probably explore having a player that resides in NA, due to ping/time differences".

I'm able to play at the moment which isn't such a big deal, but I'll be going back to school either later this year or early next year, so another season is out of the question (regardless if I find a job soon or not). If I were to get a job, I'd get something with shifting rosters, so I'd work both day & night hours on different days, so I could commit enough time to playing both with my main team & r5 AND have money.

I still have a decent amount of money left over from my old job, but I would obviously prefer to find a job soon, seeing as the main use for that money is survival :)

Anyway that's me going on a bit of a tangent. r5 were more than happy to have me play despite ping/time differences, and that's that. I also enjoy playing with them as they're a chill bunch and are pretty keen on improving. Despite all this, I may probably get frustrated here and there due to the aforementioned latency issue, but I'm sure it's still going to be a fun experience anyway.

I guess if scout was bad, I could have played pocket. lol

Awesome. You have some good aim on you, just need to slow your play down a bit I feel.

#20 I've been streaming myself playing Amnesia in Off Topic

I felt FEAR 2 (dunno about 3) was more jump scares tbh. The first game was actually very akin to Japanese horror, focusing more on the tension building that you so liked in Amnesia & Penumbra. The sound effects in FEAR were so nope.avi inducing it was ridiculous.

I was completely contrary where, since I had nothing to protect myself, the game was a lot more predictable in itself and as a result wasn't necessarily "as scary" for me. It was funny that, despite having all this high-tech weaponry in FEAR, you could still get scared shitless and still feel near helpless, compared to Amnesia where the whole point is you have to go by with nothing.

When it comes down to it, Amnesia becomes just as predictable as any other horror game to be honest. It's like it almost uses some of RE's horror scheme - give you useless as fuck controls so when shit comes at you, you feel helpless. Eventually it kinda turns into run run run, hide hide hide, puzzle puzzle puzzle.

Once again, just me I guess. Despite some of my negativity towards it, the atmosphere was good and enjoyable, and I look forward to the sequel

Edit: it's the fucking ladder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo7HA7Y89XI when it first happened: "nope".

Your overconfidence is your weakness.

"We're aware that it exists". Doesn't mean we can (or will be) necessarily be prepared for it. Is that better?

PlatinumAs one of the players constantly taking a beating from him...I can assert with utmost confidence that you cannot possibly understand or prepare for how banny plays until you play against him. While I fully expect lansky and shrugger to panic and choke on the big stage with that kind of pressure (prove me wrong boys)...if you think your dm will carry you, sadly mistaken. You may catch banny off guard for a round...or even a map...but he is the most adaptive "big picture" player I play against. His ability is what makes it so incredibly satisfying to beat him...because you have to try to out think him every second of the game. I like the confidence from the australians...you have to believe you can win..but if you think your 3 years of teamwork playing shitties or sheeps dm (unlikely superior to ruwin/shocky) will beat banny..youre making the same mistake epsilon made at i46.

Dunno why you keep emphasising on the dm aspect in this post. Also I haven't even said we'll necessarily win?? Need more blue names parroting the same stuff.

We're already aware of the b4nny advantage. If we end up going - we'll be going early so hopefully we can get some good practice against EU + NA teams.

Appreciate a post from an invite player that isn't loaded with passive aggressive behaviour.

dabes The question isn't if your teamwork or coordination is any good. How will your teamwork/coordination stand up to playing against a team that is just as skilled or more than your team for the first time(in years)?

gl against banny, if u guys get that far.

I've already stated at the bottom of that post that most of us have played together for three going on four years. Obviously it doesn't mean we'll auto-win, because more time together doesn't automatically mean better than team for one season. The cyzer/b4nny/shade long term TF2 relationship is also something that I respect and admire.

I also have previously stated that it won't be easy. We look forward to the challenge.
