atmo2sy_morphiendLet's be honest, most people posting that iM is simply outclassed by HRG can't even name iM's entire roster
And yet they've been together for four years*. Perhaps they should have made a name for themselves by now?
* I think this is very admirable, and wish it were the case for European teams too (RIP 9m). But teams like to win, and keep winning. There hasn't been much cause for iM to change their roster given their dominance of OZF.
There have actually been quite a few causes for us to change our roster in the past.
*bowt removed himself due to "university commitments", but joined another team a few days/weeks later
*Vic (our former pocket) left due to work commitments - causing my move from demoman to pocket a couple seasons ago.
*sheep has "left" at a few points in time due to work commitments, or 'taking a break from us' (or something?)
*nignig played for one season and couldn't commit anymore
*hellscream didn't want to commit to TF2 anymore and was benched
*antwa quit for a while since he got too frustrated at his internet
etc, etc.
Alas, this is all somewhat irrelevant. Just thought I'd interject there.
Kohakuyuki(general scout advice: we ripped into kohaku while watching this re: he didn't ask for it).Welp.
On one hand, being publicly dunce-capped and used as a general example of suckitude is kind of depressing, but on the other hand it's my own fault for being that generally shitty anyway. I've been seeking out advice/mentoring for my own play recently anyway, so thanks for the review, I guess.
Ok. I'll do a more heartfelt reply.
Antwa, aporia and I apologise for making you look like an idiot. Despite us not wanting to directly insult you or your play, we unfortunately (and inadvertently) did so as a result of our harsh criticism. You didn't deserve to be made an example of, and didn't even ask for the review in the first place.
At your request, I can delete the history of the vod/highlight, if you feel uncomfortable with it staying there.
DrPloxoyukiGiven that ruwin and clockwork could club an elephant to death with their big-dicking, I wouldn't base much off of their playing, specifically. Ruwin is very much enabled by the rest of his team, and without the incredibly aggressive style that mix^ uses, he'd be focused down every time.
From my observation of ESEA regular season and LAN, a player "running in" with good dm and killing half the team has worked quite well (re: ruwin, clockwork). It's not too hard for a good scout to exploit a small window of opportunity to turn it into a massive advantage (eg. no rockets loaded on pocket, no stickies, etc). Not only that, it's not like we rely on our scouts to do work for us. I have confidence in every member in my teams dm ability and decision making.
So... sheep isn't enabled by our team? And we don't play aggressive?
Have you watched our team ever play a game? Why are there so many question marks in this post?
boomerlooks to me like yuki is in for a rude awakening
Not really. I'm just confident - not arrogant. It's ok, though - blue name means you're correct.
TLRFrom what I've seen, the top aus players are all quite individually skilled. The problem comes from the teams they are playing against. From some of the aus povs I have seen, it looks like pickup games or US teams from 3+ years ago. vs teams like that, it's super easy for a player with good dm to run in and kill half the team (ex. carnage 3 years ago). That alone doesn't work now.
I would expect them to beat most of the teams fairly handily, but lose to the top US/EU teams due to coordination and team play they aren't used to playing against.

I'll admit that our competition in Australia isn't as close as it is in North America, but it doesn't automatically make our teamwork and coordination any weaker than the other top teams. As I've said in the past, four of us have played together for nearly 3-4 years, so I'm PRETTY SURE that our coordination/teamwork for the most part is 'pretty good', considering that most invite teams last a season or two max.
It's good to see the hype building up, though. Should be good.

These games were pretty scrappy from us, to be honest. But I suppose it is the most recent game that we have played that has been casted, so w/e.
Good find, though.
nemowhos scouting with sheep btw
antwa. NZ TF2 veteran of YSW fame. Has also previously played comp dota + CS in the past, and Korean MMO conoisseur.

DeathanchorMGE helps with aim, but in an actual game it's all about picking your fights. If you can successfully avoid 1v1 scout situations where you know the opponent is at fairly higher health, you can drastically improve your survivability and K/D ratio. Having one scout with a low amount of deaths means your team will have a reliable flank that will be able to better deny jumpers/scouts on your medic because you will be alive and able to take that roll.
I would disagree. That's a generalization that one scout needs less deaths than the other. I agree with the first part of your post.
As I've said previously, it's about actually being the most effective you can be in the given situation. If you start thinking about 'having low deaths', a lot of the time you will pass up exploiting little advantages that could turn into big advantages if you just held w instead of s. Yes, you(or both scouts) need to be aware of incoming aggressive players and shut them down immediately, but you don't want to be sitting around not doing much. You want to be active.
There's no real trick to scout v scout - just shoot the bad man better. Also, the quicker you end the duel - the quicker you assist your team in whatever fight/action that may be taking place.
Though to be fair, a lot of the time it is pretty bad to be two scouts down (especially if they didn't accomplish anything).
EDIT: On a side note, please don't use the "null movement script" (if you do) as a general tip.

We aren't targeting/criticizing you necessarily as a player, it's just that your actions/decision making in the demo were... mostly questionable.
I'm sure you'll improve in good time if you take the criticism on board and get out of some nasty habits (eg. 3-4 scatters on demo in mid!)
vanillaLol I've seen sheep snipe. And he is absolutely insanely good at it. I still stand by my statement that running 2 scouts and a roamer (i.e. more useful classes) will beat even sheep 99 times out of 100.
You're saying this like we recruited him to play sniper (backup scout), and not scout/sniper.
Also, it seems people don't know about how sheep exploits these ridiculously small timing windows to get picks. You can say "nah team x will do well because they play tight", but when he almost literally meatshots everything in his face, it will still be a concern to a "blob". Even if you try focus him how EU teams focus cookye, he will find a way.
wafflebThey'll probably get destroyed
There's no way they can compete with invite/prem teams
SORRY AUSTRALIA
From what I know, you're IM/Div 2(?) EU, so I daresay your understanding and general skill at the game is not very good. Taking this as bait as that's surely the only point/basis of this post.
I'd like to think we have a chance of competing with HRG/Epsilon (HRG I'm more concerned about, for obvious reasons), but none of us will be taking this lightly. We would be watching a bucketload of demos before the event to actually make sure everyone is on the same page on what the other team is doing/could be doing, and what we need to be doing ourselves to win. I'm just confident in my teams ability (especially dm), and the core of us (sheep, aporia, bonobo and I) have been playing together for nearly four years now.
That demo was unbearably laggy. Any chance of you uploading a demo where you are not lagging? So many things change because of ping, and it is pretty much impossible to watch.
Also edit- changed the format. Please see the amended OP.
Hey guys. I made a new thread if you haven't seen it yet.
http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/7481-yukis-demo-reviews
If I haven't done your demo, I apologise. If you would still like me to do that particular demo, or another one for that matter, please post in the new thread from now on.
Thanks.
Maybe try asking the guy. I think that's a good place to start.
eg - friends invite/steam comment/forum pm/skywriting/whatever you will
yz doesn't have time to play anymore.
I did it once.

Just played a demo, ran fraps for however long the demo ran, then watched some TV. Chucked into vegas and just rendered without anything special, really. As you can see, the quality isn't the best. I'd recommend bandicam (premium if possible) as I was able to get better quality & filesizes on later recordings.
My syncing of the audio is a little bit off (maybe a few hundred ms) but not noticeable enough to make a difference.
If you were to do a bunch of demos it'd probably be a fair amount of effort. But if they're separate files it's no doubt a lot easier.
EDIT: dxtory probably works fine too I suppose.
