Why are you adding Laser mice? They're awful compared to optical.
That's pretty well negligible. If your laser mouse is awful, it's because that particular sensor is bad and not the technology in general. I've never had an issue with mine misreading or cutting off or anything, on any surface.
EDIT: To clarify, laser and optical are essentially the exact same technology. One of them generates EMR through an LED, the other does through a laser. They both read them in the same way.
I like my Steelseries mouse because it's sturdy and comfortable as fuck (rubberized Sensei raw). The accel is barely noticeable, you can still build muscle memory for it just as easily as anything else. It's a lot less of an issue than the angle snapping my logitechs have had.
There is not a single good laser mouse out there. You can't get used to the acceleration on ADNS-9500/9800 mice because it's not linear but more like a sinus wave.

That's what clockwork needs. Sensitivity changing mouse by design.

povohatI feel where you are coming from Koeitje. It appears as though the OP is a list of all the mice that people use, regardless of whether they are actually good or not. I personally would not recommend a lot of the mice listed because of their objective flaws.
Having said that, Sheep uses a g9x (adns-9500) and it appears as though he isn't struggling that much with the inconsistent nature of its tracking.
Just imagine what he could do with a mouse that actually tracks his hand perfectly.

Just wanted to point out that I got a WMO and IMO for $5 a piece at my local Goodwill (they usually carry a few). But I'd definitely pay $30 for them. Great mice, but don't forget to check your local thrift stores. Those places can be treasure troves ;)

There's the EC2 eVo which is just like the EC1 but smaller. Good for those who find the Deathadder or EC1 kinda big. Cycles through 450/1150/2300 DPI with a button on the bottom. Has a glossy white version and a rubberized black version. Comes with free replacement mouse feet and a Zowie case sticker that looks pretty good on a Mazda Protege.

Do people buy the IME because it's cheap? As far as I know it has pretty big amounts of negetive acceleration at high speeds?

if I didn't mind paying more I would have got a zowie fk

Deathadder hits 3.92/ms before it goes bad (at 1800dpi, lower dpi settings are worse)

The Zowie EC1 you listed is actually an EC1 eVo. There's a big difference between the two.
Hein Mid L is what I use and it's great. I think there are some other Artisan Hein users here as well.

ill explain cause apparently im one of those nerdlords ur referring to (lol)
so like were gonna go back to 2000-2004 when I started gaming (i was 10 or something) but anyways, back then the ballmouse was dying (ZeRo4 still used one im sure^^) and m$ optical mice were god. and of the m$ mice, everyone used the light grey ime 3.0, every top player/pro/legend in quake, cs, ut, mohaa, and cod all I saw was the 3.0 (and occasionally other m$ mice).
but times change and some other companies start making optical mice, I lost my 3.0 so I had the pleasure of using a dell optical mouse for a bit (wtf! :(). like a lot of ppl I moved on to an mx518 cause it has cool dents and its new or whatever, then the g5 (first corded laser mouse, moar dpi!! thx a lot logitech). m$ stops making the 3.0 (the wmo and imo 1.1 gain popularity amongst m$ fans), the dpi bandwagon is in full swing and numerous awful mice are released. eventually ppl start realizing laser sucks. the 3.0 is brought back due to popular demand (but the build quality is inferior to the original). ESR mousescore comes out confirming laser sucks and then the max control speed bandwagon starts. people buy the mx300/500 solely because it got first place in the test and they think they are superhumans who move their mouse at 4m/s (lol). The death adder is released with an optical sensor, (it scores very well on ESR) and I get one. but it just doesn't feel good :o( so im sad. so I go back to my original 3.0 <3 cause its a legend. Sujoy admits that his ESReality test doesn't matter that much, and goes back to his wmo stating 'There is something unquantifiably great about it. Just feels right.' And to this day many Quake pros use the WMO, IMO 1.1 and IME 3.0. I know m$ mice aren't perfect, mine has the scroll wheel is removed cause it always breaks, it has aftermarket mousefeet, and I have to manually overclock the USB port. I tried so many mice (I'm sorry for cheating on u), but I always come back to m$ 400dpi despite the flaws. Newschoolers will hate but they just don't understand, ily4evr <3.0

don't care about theoretical statistics of stuff if it's not actually going to happen.

Thanks for the info. I've seen its flaws e.g scroll wheel, mouse 4/5 but it still looks like a really solid mouse. My current mouse feels really inconsistent which is probably because of a shitty sensor and that accel wave effect Koeitje brought up. Just want a light mouse that feels good and can handle some twitch stuff without inconsistencies so this sounds good.

possibly a weird question, but what's the biggest mouse you guys have used? I prefer a palm grip but I have very large hands and too much of my hand drags on the desk/pad with the mice I've used. To this point the Deathadder and the G400 were both too small. I'm using a Corsair M60 now and it's ok but if there's something bigger I'd like to try it. Price is not an issue.
