Okay Setsul so I went to KSP to consult with them and to order the assembly, and after reading your part list with the guy that helped me we made some changes to it.
I would like to get your opinions on the changes and on the new build in general.
I should note I'm okay with adding some money to the budget as long as it's for a crucial / important / safer change.
After making the changes I ordered the assembly from them, but it's gonna take some time meaning I have until probably sunday to make changes to what I ordered or withdraw his changes which is why I am bothering you again.

The changes are as follows:
1. According the the KSP employee the i5 6600 Box doesn't include a cooler so he replaced it with a tray and added a fan - Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 this seems a little weird to me though and I think he might have confused it with the K series which doesn't come with a fan so I want to hear what you think. It's also worth noting that even if the box does include a fan and he was wrong the temperatures in israel are relatively high and the default fan might not be enough so it might be worth getting a tray + CPU Cooler anyways.
2. He also said the 450W PSU might not be enough and fail at peaks so he replaced it with the 550 one, I don't know much about what that means but I'm okay with adding money to the budget if it means being safer/improving. If you don't agree maybe a 500W is an option?
3. He said the case doesn't have enough room for the GPU so he replaced the case with Antec P9 WINDOW ATX Mid Tower, I think he was wrong on this one too because looking up the GPU I found it does fit in the case. Regardless of the mistake he said the antec one is better. Should I just stick to the CoolerMaster one?
4. I decided to go with only the 500 GB SSD instead of getting both a SSD and a HDD. If I ever need more space I will add to it.

I will also note going past the budget by not too much ( as much as the new build does) is okay.

The new part list considering I don't change it:
CPU: i5-6600 Tray
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2
Mobo: GA-B150M-D3H
RAM: 2x G.Skill 8GB 2400MHz CL15
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming
SSD: 850 Evo 2.5" 500 GB SSD
PSU: Corsair CX550M
Case: Antec P9 WINDOW ATX Mid Tower

Total cost: 6385 NIS on KSP including OS which is 401.71 NIS.

SetsulI should have posted this days ago.

No HDD either?
Which newerish games? Would be ideal if iGPU is sufficient.
When are you going to build it?
No peripherals needed, I hope.

no hdd as of yet but might upgrade later.
well, the most demanding game i see on her library is assassins creed black flag, and fallout 4.
probably around next month or 2
nope, no peripherals

1. Most definitely wrong. He just wants to sell you a tray CPU and a cooler.
The Freezer Pro 7 Rev.2 won't make any difference.

http://www.techreaction.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Average-Test-Temp-@-2.8-GHz.jpg

This was back in 2011 with a 130W CPU. The i5-6600 needs only half that, 65W, and the newer stock coolers are slightly better as well. It will either be very close or the stock cooler will actually be better.

2. Either he doesn't know the actual power draw or he means in case you want to upgrade in the future or he's trying to get you to spend more again.
65W for the i5-6600, ~180W for a G1 1070, add all the other stuff and we're at 300W. Let's say 350W if you oc the GPU. Still 100W left.

3. Max GPU length is 315mm. The G1 1070 is 286mm. I don't see the problem.
Actual reason: It's not in stock at that store and they'd have get it shipped first.

You said you had a budget, that's why I went with a cheaper case.
The one you linked is the version without a window, windowed got the same problem as the K281: not in stock everywhere.
If you're going for looks, want a window, dust filters or anything that the P9 offers you should take a look at the Sharkoon BW9000-W. They don't have the BW9000-V (no window), but even the -W is cheaper than the P9 without a window. There's also a slightly more expensive white version (still cheaper than the P9 with window) if you like that.

4. Yeah, that's what I would've went with as well. 120GB is just too small to fit all programs + windows and 250GB + HDD is way more expensive than it should be due to the weird 250GB pricing. And adding an HDD is easy.

If my math is correct that should bring it down ~150 ILS again.

1. Acknowledged, I'll ask to change to the box.
2. I see, this is one of the things I know least about though and his talking about the peaks getting over 450W and blue screening the PC are kind of intimidating and considering the price difference is not all that huge I am unsure about this part yet.
3. The Sharkoon one in white looks great to me (both specs and actual looks) so I think I'm going to go with that one.
4. Great, ty.

So far so good I'll ask again if there is any other problems but hopefully I won't be bothering you anymore untill I thank you after I get the pc.

But where are the spikes supposed to come from?
Also it can't bluescreen. If there's no power it's just off, instantly.

Stock 1070

MSI Gaming X comparable to the Gigabyte G1

That's still <450W total with the CPU and everything else. And that's what the PSU is rated for continuosly. Even higher spikes wouldn't be a problem.

Has anyone seen any performance about intel's new Kaby Lake CPUs? I'm compiling a list of potential options for CPUs for me to upgrade to and the Kaby Lake ones really caught my eye. I'm going to be doing things like streaming and video editing, so initially I was looking into the 6700k but seeing these new ones makes me wonder how they'll do with content creation.

Kaby Lake is identical to Skylake except for the GPU, which you don't care about probably.
So the i7-7700K (4.2 GHz base) will probably perform exactly like an i7-6700K (4.0 GHz base) at the same clockrates. They're supposed to overclock higher though, definitely a good thing for you, I assume you thought about the 6700K becaue you wanted to overclock.
Prices should be almost the same anyway so there's literally no point in buying Skylake anymore once the Kaby Lake Desktop CPUs are released, slightly higher clockrates = slightly better performance for around the same price.

Hi guys, I'm not exactly amazing with computers so I need some help. Unfortunately my liquid cooler broke (cracked inside the other day and leaked a few drops of fluid onto my graphics card :/ ) As it a only drop or two and removed the cooler immediately (haven't switched PC on since crash), I am hoping there's been no damage. Problem now is I need to buy a new cooler for my machine as I want to get it back up and running soon. If anyone could recommend me one, or give me any general advice on what to do in this situation, I would be very appreciative, as I really don't know much. Also want to know whether it is worth getting a fan cooler instead? or just get the same cooler again? Looking to spend around £40 at most, you guys will know what I should spend for my specs though :)
Specs:
CPU - AMD FX-6350
GPU - Zotac GTX-960
PSU - Kolink KL-500 (500W)
RAM - Corsair 8GB
Hard Drive - Seagate 1TB
Case - Corsair Carbide Spec-03
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-78LMT Micro ATX
Broken cooler was a Raijintek (Triton 240mm I think but not certain)
If it helps I can provide a picture of the motherboard/pc or the cooler. Thanks for any help :)

Hey,

I have a budget of $800, and I'm looking to play mainly tf2, including Overwatch and some H1Z1 (although thats not too important) I would like to play at around 200 fps constantly in tf2, and 120 in Overwatch. I will mostly be using this rig for gaming. Dont plan on streaming or recording youtube videos. I also don't need a monitor, I have a seperate budget for that.

Thanks!

Talked to him on Steam and decided to bump up the budget a bit to get a discrete GPU and a good CPU for Adobe Premiere etc..

CPU: i5-6500
RAM: 2x4GB 2400 MHz CL15
Mobo: GA-B150M-D3H
GPU: RX 460
PSU: CX450M
Case: N200
Total ~560€

Are you actually in China or somewhere else? If it's not on pcpartpicker then I'll need either a link to a price comparision site or to a shop (or multiple shops).

120 fps in Overwatch on what settings and resolution? 720p Low 120 fps is quite different in terms of hardware requirements from 4K Epic.

So I'm finally getting around to it.

I don't have a firm budget. Ideally, I'd like to spend less than $1200 CAD. I live in Ontario, Canada. I use PayPal for all my online purchases (no credit card as of yet) so I can't get anything from Amazon.

My use cases are primarily TF2 and Overwatch, with a few other games (civ, football manager, CS:GO) I play rarely and am not worried about. I'd like to get 150+ fps in TF2 matchmaking, and 150+ fps on Overwatch on medium or better settings. This is the first time I'm really diving into building a PC or doing anything related, so I'd like some feedback on a potential build I put together on pcpartpicker. PSU not included, but I will need to add one to the build, I just have no idea what to go for.

I have a white/blue color theme which I'd like to stick with. I already have all the peripherals I need.

More specific questions:

Show Content
1. I see the motherboard's memory type is DDR4-2133. The RAM I have selected (mainly chosen for the color) is DDR4-2400. Does this matter?
2. I don't see myself streaming regularly, and upgrading to an i7 with similar single-core performance seems pretty expensive. How bad could I expect performance / fps hitches to be while streaming TF2 or Overwatch if I ever choose to do so?
3. Is it worth spending more money for a 6GB GTX 1060, instead of 3GB? Or is some RX 480 a better choice? I've read some things online saying that 3GB isn't very future proof, and there's a good chance I'll be using a 2 monitor setup.

edit: after talking to a friend of mine I changed cpu cooler and case fans for more blue LED effect because I'm shallow and materialistic. Link is updated

SetsulBudget shouldn't be a problem so let's focus on performance.
i5 should be enough.
Define decent GPU.
SSD size? HDD?
µATX ok or SLI/Crossfire or lots of PCI(e) cards planned?

CPU i5 GEN 6
Kingston 240GB SSD
Seagate HDD 1TB SATA 3.5 Surveillance

I think this is quite enough for a gaming computer.

[quote=Setsul]Budget shouldn't be a problem so let's focus on performance.

1. It should run slower automatically, that's not a problem. Also what Intel officially supports on the B150 chipset (2133MHz) and what the manufacturers end up supporting on their mobos can be different things.
2. Depending on the settings not much in TF2. Overwatch will probably take a significant hit though.
3. Keep in mind that the 1060 3GB and 1060 6GB are actually different GPUs. Welcome to nVidia marketing.
At this point most would say that for maxing out the settings on 1080p in AAA games 2 GB isn't enough anymore and 4 GB is enough right now but might not be anymore in a few years. 3 GB is in the no man's land between them. So yeah, if you want to do that 6/8 GB is probably a better idea.

FYI:

113 fps minimum. That's on Ultra, not Low.

http://www.techspot.com/articles-info/1180/bench/CPU_01.png

i5-6600 should be slightly better than the i5-4690k

I think consistent 120 fps on Low should be doable with this. ;-)

rezgarSetsulrezgarGPU heavy games like world of warships and world of tanks.Sorry, I laughed out loud at that one.
You can get >100 fps on max settings with a 150$ GPU in those.

WoT is also one of the few games with worse multithreading than TF2. Because it doesn't have any. At all.
http://i.imgur.com/mV9bFz7.mp4

Assuming you're talking about the new Star Wars Battlefront, that and Overwatch are actually not too demanding either. It's not easy but with e.g. a GTX 1080 getting >120 fps actually isn't a problem on 1080p even with maxed out settings.

Anyway, Swedish prices would be a bit too much work for now, but something along these lines is the goal:

Worst case you get a 1070, which should still be more than enough.
Alright that looks great thank you, just wondering though what if I wanted to start streaming, making videos etc. Wouldn't I need an i7 core then? If so, how much more $$ would I need to add to my current budget to replace the i5 with a good i7 instead and keeping everything else?
SetsulYou wouldn't need it, it just would actually help. If you're not streaming you wouldn't notice a difference.
Difference would be about 100$.

The thing is though I'm not sure if the 1080 is going to happen with Swedish prices. Since the 1070 is 200$ cheaper if we have to drop down to that the i7 might fit within the budget anyway.

Ok so it's time for me to build my PC, will probably be building it this week. And yeah I think I will drop down to the 1070 because it's 200$ cheaper and add an i7 core instead, havent looked at the swedish prices tho. My friend and I came up with this as my final PC build http://pcpartpicker.com/list/bPC6BP, what are your thoughts on it?

Also could you be bothered to do that list of yours for me in swedish prices now? prisjakt.se is the site you use to compare swedish store's items to eachother.

Oh and also, could you recommend me a good keyboard for gaming (red switches) and good speakers? I have no idea what to get or how much money to spend on them. I just want good ones at a reasonable price.

I want to do this thoroughly and actually compare prices, but that takes time and will have to wait until tomorrow.
At first glance I'd say the 212 Evo is unnecessary and a CX450M would also be sufficient. Rest looks good.

Entry level keyboard with Cherry MX Red would be the Cooler Master Storm Quickfire Rapid. Or TK instead of Rapid if you want a backlit one. Or XT if you want a numpad.

Ok I have no idea what those keyboards are that you mentioned, kind of lost on how to proceed on that lol.

Also checked, the GPU I have in my list can not be purchased in any swedish stores so I have to get a different but similar one (dont know which one). But include an i7 core in your list please, wanna get one. My budget is still around 11 000 SEK for the PC ALONE. The BenQ monitor is a different budget. I just dont know how much to put into a good keyboard and a good set of speakers.

Thank you so much setsul you're a blessing :) I'm so excited to get started.

Two more questions.

For the time being, wired ethernet isn't an option for me. Do I need to buy a wireless network adapter? If so, any suggested models? I'm willing to pay for quality.

Second question....
My roommate is also planning to build a PC. He wants to play Overwatch and DOTA 2 at 60+ fps, both at low or better settings. He lives in Ontario, Canada. His budget is $800 CAD. He hasn't done much research yet, any suggestions to get him started looking at potential builds?

Theoretically you should get 30% more fps. The problem is that my data is based on actual quadcores and the Q9550 is just 2 dualcores bolted onto one package so things might get weird. I'd expect it to be less than 30%.
Overclocking would be better if you can do that because depending on cooling, mobo and how much time you're willing to spend on it you can get a 30-50% overclock.

#1765
There was no wifi unexpectedly so the "7:00 on the road build" didn't happen.

Also I should not find "Datorminnen" as funny as I do.
Skrivhastighet is a close second.

HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda

Always including shipping that was 7495 SEK.

Now assuming 1200 for Windows 10 and 4400 for a GTX 1070 we'd be at 13100 SEK.
I don't think I can make the i7 happen.

I was willing to hazard a guess, Turkish Lira or Syrian Pound seemed unlikely enough.

Rough idea, assuming you're fine with just 250GB for now:

Yes, wireless without a wireless adapter is quite difficult so I'd recommend you get one.
I need more information though, what does your router support? No point in paying for an ac adapter if you're stuck on g.

The build tomorrow, I'm done for today.

There was no wifi unexpectedly so the "7:00 on the road build" didn't happen.

Also I should not find "Datorminnen" as funny as I do.

My house is getting a new internet plan along with a new router soon, so I'll get back to you on this once we finalize that.

Thanks a lot, which one of the 1070s would you recommend me to get? There are like 8 models to choose from and I dont know which one I should pick. I guess I'm kinda forced to expand my budget a bit then if I want that i7 I supose. Also does a cooler come with the i7 or would I be without one if I dont buy one separetly?

EDIT: Do you think the motherboard you mentioned is really trustable to work properly without any malfunctions? Considering it has no recensions or anything. Also do you know how many SATA cables will come with it?

Forget those with only 1 fan.
Then the first group until ~4400 is very similar, I'd go with the Palit GameRock though.
The next group from 4600 to 4800 is very close again so I'd go with the Gigabyte G1 because it's the cheapest.
