I know you have that El Salvador flag Enigma. I found it myself. Look, I'll sweeten the deal, if you make it where only I can use the El Salvador flag I'll buy TF.TV+
KillingBut how will I know who's opinion to respect now?

can you make an option to pay one month at a time without recurring fees?
This site has been such a wonderful thing, $5 monthly is a pittance for all that I've gotten out of it. Excited to see what features you'll implement for TFTV+ later!
trogEvery forum I've ever visited has had new post notifications and a jump to unread post button. I won't pretend to know how most forums implement it, but how is it that they can do so without using so many resources it requires a subscription system to support it?
I'm by no means against having some way for you to recover some of the money you spend on hosting, but I'm a little confused as to why these basic forum features can't be available to everyone when most forums can provide them easily.
your typical phpbb forum probably marks threads either "read" or "unread" in one of the following ways:
1. storing thread viewing history in your browser session
2. comparing a timestamp of your last visit to the activity in each thread
3. a combination of the two above
in all of these cases the downside is either imprecision or the fact that you lose all of your viewing history the instant you close your browser.
the implementation on this site is database driven so that your viewing history saves on any browser and any device. it's a somewhat difficult idea to explain in full so i'll add a trial of sorts in the future to make it all clear.
mthsadcan you offer another payment service besides paypal? i cant use them for several reasons.

The timestamp system seems to work well enough despite its imprecision, as I've never really had issues with it on any other site I've used. Considering nearly every other forum uses it (even those handling way more users than tftv, which is where I would assume imprecisions would show up more often), I'm not really sure why tftv would need a perfect implementation if it hogged resources to this extent.
If you offered the timestamp system to normal users, would people even notice a difference when they upgraded, or are the improvements very noticeable? I'd personally be more than happy to accept a few hiccups if it meant I didn't have to pay for basic forum functions, but at the same time I'd be okay with paying to upgrade from a timestamp system if your implementation makes significantly noticeable improvements.
edit: I'm assuming most forums use timestamps because I don't lose anything when I close my browser

Cloudmaker2hookyWhat about gold?Cloudmaker2invite should get pink or purple. some diff color to make them feel special.Purple is Twitch chat, so Twitch John. Pink could be a little hard to see. TFTV staff was once pink, and is now green (unless that was removed too).
Gold should be the TFTV membership color

EU peeps should get Gold names.
Everyone knows EU > NA.
Everyone knows EU > NA.
If anyone can have blue names, perhaps make it so admins have green names or something.
Is there any specific reason that I can't use my Paypal balance to pay for it? The only option is to go directly from my bank account, which I would rather avoid.

Gold would be cool but what about more banners or little badges or something. And you can collect the badges and put it by your name. Or maybe ribbons. Some thin diagonal ribbons, you can hover over them and see what they are. And you can get cool ribbons and you can select which ribbons you want to see. Ribbons are tight
will there eventually be name status cosmetic sets too?
Mangachuwhat do you mean toaster
I mean yz's blue name will live on. Cause he does not have it anymore...

gold is already reserved for gotfrag legends (the only account that has it is skill detector)
honestly I'd like to see a more intuitive color scheme where tftv staff had whatever color, esea admins had green, john has purple, prem people can have blue

Sorry but this is not true. Most major forum systems already have this system implemented and it is stored on a per user basis on the database, and the way it works is that it stores the post ID of any given topic on the database as the last viewed post on that thread. And these are forums with thousands of users I'm talking about here, so while this has definitely a performance impact on the forums, every major system out there has it implemented and I don't think it has a relavant impact comparing to other features
Supporting the site and the community is cool and all as well but I also think 5$ month is a little steep. Making some yearly / semestral price plans as well as making the monthly somewhat more affordable would be the best option.
Also the "perks" here besides supporting the community aren't all that appelative. Removing the color names for invite/prem is cool but I still think those players should be at least recognized in some way.
I kinda like ozfortress approach to this, it might not be the ideal option but I feel they got it kinda right.

For example just a quick mockup (of course dont take anything serious this is just a quick thing out of the top of my head) but I think the post bar with your username and your profile overally has a lot of potential to expand or at least include some perks / rewards to who is supporting the site or who is prem/invite. (I would get rid of the stars altogether, they are ugly imo and dont fit the forum style and are pretty much out of place.)

But I still think before all this a lot could be improved forum wise. The editor is still very simple, you can't even make numbered or bulleted lists (afaik), no pm system, no full post or thread history (just recent activity) overall its still lacking a lot compared to the commonly used forum softwares out there (smf/phpbb, etc)
I understand you might want to follow the minimalistic approach similar to gotfrag, but there is still a lot that can be accomplished within the forums while still keeping the same style / approach.
Overall don't take this as a personal attack or any of that kind, simply trying to get some constructive criticism out. I do think from a platform built from scratch (or near that) what was accomplished so far is really amazing, but reinventing the wheel is kind of pointless imo.
