CommonPlebJust bought an ASUS VG248QE off of amazon warehouse for $200 and apparently the only thing wrong with it is a dinged up box. I will report back when it gets here.
I've been eyeing those. Interested how it turns up when listed with "packaging has damage"

This exists, some peps did some tests of it, and said it beats the asus in terms of input lag, and is a cheaper alternative when its on sale. http://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2460PQU-Ultimate-Performance-Professional/dp/B00HY7PAUC

Yeah I figured with amazon's return policy it's worth checking out.

i picked up the vg248qe earlier this month for like £270
which is like twice the america price but definitely worth it after you tweak the colours slightly

Whenever I look at electronics prices in the USA I feel like I'm getting robbed here in EU.

I got a xl2411t from the Amazon warehouse with the same description of a damaged packaging, turns out the whole thing didn't work and I had to return it.. Was with Amazon Germany though so your milage may vary

Just looking at the vg248qe on ebay and you can get it imported for £190-£200 including all shipping.

I'm working on updating this thread; I'm hoping it will be easier to understand and more up-to-date. I'll probably be done this weekend, if not tomorrow.

Just curious, I was looking to buy a 144hz monitor and I narrowed it down to the Asus VG248QE and the BenQ XL2420Z. Just wondering if anyone had any opinions on either.

SetsulWhy not the XL2411Z?
or the GB2488HSU from iiyama. I've managed to find (well nvc linked me himself, thanks) a pretty good review:

I was under the impression that the 2420 was the better version.

GatanaterI was under the impression that the 2420 was the better version.
This lists some of the differences
Some attributes seen on the 20Z but not 11Z at the front include; touch sensitive buttons, a straight bottom bezel, red accents and the ‘S-Switch’ rapid preset selector and OSD controller.
The 11Z offers; VGA, Dual-Link DVI and HDMI at the rear alongside a headphone jack at the side. The 20Z offers these in addition to another DisplayPort, HDMI port and a USB 2.0 port (plus upstream) at the rear and 2 USB 2.0 ports at the side.

So I figured I would post back about the ASUS I got on amazon warehouse for $200. Literally the only thing wrong with it was a tiny ding on the cardboard box and that saved me $70. If you can catch one of these on amazon warehouse I would definitely recommend picking one up.

Other than that the BenQ Z series got a nice strobing utility and it's PWM-free. -> XL241Z > VG248QE, unless you want G-Sync

I don't know too much about monitors, but I noticed this in my local craigslist and I'm wondering whether it's a good deal or not. Gently used but apparently in good condition, thanks.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular model from AOC or rather from manufacturer itself ?

Looking at these 2 monitors atm:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LG-Flatron-W2363D-120hz-23-inch-3D-LCD-monitor-/231339904737?pt=UK_Computing_ComputerComponents_Monitors&hash=item35dceecee1

However, I only get paid £120 this week, so I can only afford the 1st monitor. Is it worth waiting till 2 weeks time where i get paid another £120 for the BenQ? Or should the 1st monitor suffice.

Also, does it hurt to use one of these things to share the connection between a 144hz monitor and a regular 60hz one ? Having a hard time finding a female DVI-D cable since my GFX card only has 1 male. I can't use a signal converter because my card ( HD7850 ) doesn't like the conversion and generates some weird vertical lines in games.

This could be wrong, but I'd think that if it's splitting the signal two ways it's only capable of outputting 1080p 60hz to each monitor due to bandwidth limitations. Could be wrong though.
