Pinch your nose when you speak.

Considering you're fully immersed in the language it won't take long
Change all your phone/program/game languages to French
Learn the numbers (in French they're really complex compared to other EU languages)
Start smoking

Befriend a learning-English French person (not rare) exchange contact info and help each other out with the languages you want to learn through discord or facetime

(I assume you're in a big vaudoise city)
A lot of Migros (maybe Coop too, not sure) have small ad boards at the entrance for people to advertise their services. You could check if someone is offering french courses or you could leave your information there asking for help. Otherwise try to consume medias in French : videos, books, TV anything helps as long as you put the effort :). Also don't be afraid to ask for help in English to younger people, we have like 5 years of English at school so a good chunk of the younger population has a decent grasp of the language.

yeah im like 20 mins west of EPFL/UniL
this was a shitpost, but that's actually more useful information than the university gave me for finding language courses.
still need to find a permanent flat before I can afford lessons, but I'll come back to this soon. Thank you so much :D
