Go to HudAmmoWeapons.res and turn visible and enabled for AmmoInClipShadow to 0

I think someone answered this question on page 64
TreshIt's attached to the top left of the hud element of hudmediccharge, so you have to move the entire thing, and then move the individual elements back to their original position.

so I'm having some difficulty adding a border to my targetid. the method i went with was to simply replicate the black background i was using and make it '2' wider and '2' taller then adjust xpos/ypos accordingly and color it white. the only problem is that because the background resizes with the length of name of the person being 'targeted' it sometimes covers up the white background. why? the white one is 2 pixels wider so when it resizes (because it does resize) shouldn't it resize by the same amount? is there a better way to do a border that will resize? imgur album here. targetid code here.

Cloning is not possible.
This is just guesswork but it might be possible to set it up so that none of the old newsbox setup is there and gets replaced by all the link buttons. Each link button has the commands set up like a combination of the next and previous buttons and the openurl button.
I'm shit at explaining so I'll try to whip my idea up and see if it works.

With some testing it doesn't seem possible. The commands motd_next, motd_prev, and motd_viewurl seem to mess up a bit when they're on buttons that aren't already made for the newsboxes, and more importantly they don't like multiple commands on one button (and will break and not work).
You could still make a very simple newsbox and then have the image be set to show you how much next/prev buttons you need to hit, sort of like
