I've had that in JayHUD for ever pretty much. You make the hudplayerhealth.res as wide and tall as the whole screen and make an instance of a bar along each of the sides. you'll have to re-position the health itself but that's your outline done. Then go to hudanimations and simply animate the bar to change colour when buffed and low.

So I've been messing with STAR_'s broeselhud, tweaking it to my liking, and I'm trying to get health cross and numerical HP in the freezepanel, but not with much luck. As you can see here, the edges are cut off.
Anyway I can fix that?

I've tried asking at: http://teamfortress.tv/thread/19073/hud-editing-short-questions-quick-answers/?page=27, but there wasn't a clear response :/

Looks great, but i think it might be a bit confusing in battle with so many elements on just the right side. Would love to see what direction you take with this!

I like it, but maybe move some of the elements to the left a bit? I love the scheme and design though :) Hope to see a DL for this soon.

The downside is that it doesn't work in sv_pure 2 as it's a custom material. If anyone is interested in it I'd be happy to upload what I've done so far, I'm just not sure that there was a point in making it/continuing work on it.
