theres a difference between relying on something and the annoyance that is having to deal with an unnecessary change that essentially increases your ping. Like yeah you can pull the "Chad If You Cant Handle 50 Ping You Are Bad" but you cant deny that ping can make a big difference in performance/enjoy-ability.

Honestly if you're not playing/jumping with default lerp, 75 FOV, and every other default setting you kinda just suck. Valve chose them as the default for a reason. They can do no wrong hence these settings must be optimal.

Jump servers are a whole different thing and I agree that in those cases, the server owner should allow for that to happen or you can use a local session. But for the vast majority of cases, which is what we're talking about when we discuss game defaults, this is a good change.

Last I knew turning your viewmodel off makes some props literally invisible (most prominently on granary) giving you literal wall hacks so... Yeah that shit shouldn't be allowed either.

the 0 lerp thing for soldier and demo definitely felt very nice regardless of the unintended reasons for its existence. I don't know if Valve is going to remove bounces from the source engine since its also an unintended glitch now.

this breaks ppl being able to go below 15 lerp with cl_updaterate btw

sv_maxupdaterate should be maybe higher on tourney configs to allow this
Only if you want the client to extrapolate entity movement with no server data (bad idea). This is a good change that I reported to Valve a few weeks ago because of the server desync and lag compensation problems it could cause.

Its the classic example of a disconnect between the technician and the end-user, albeit the correct technical jargon, the fact of the matter is that there are people whose user experience of the game was improved because of it. It was a choice why did you have to take it away. You just killed the dead horse.

Any update that takes options away from the end user that are not unfair or exploiting towards other users is a bad update, especially because most of the people here are concerned about jumping, which is a skill that directly transfers over to real games

Yes it's possible, in fact the update didn't really add anything new, its just that now the default chat positioning seems to be taken direcly from the animation while before it was taken from BaseChat.res
As long as the hud has the LowerChatWindow and RestoreChatWindow animations set up correclty the chat should stick to the custom assigned postion

Yes it's possible, in fact the update didn't really add anything new, its just that now the default chat positioning seems to be taken direcly from the [url=https://github.com/Hypnootize/TF2-Default-Hud/blob/master/scripts/hudanimations_tf.txt#L1419]animation[/url] while before it was taken from BaseChat.res
