my headset that ive had for years is kinda falling to bits (has been for a while lol)

i know this thread is hardly original but i looked through others and couldnt see any from last few years (tho i didnt have a good look lol)

dont rly have a price range in mind (but would like it if you say what the prices of your recommendations are), just looking for personal recommendations from people, only requirement is must have a mic.

hyperx cloud 2s are a staple for a good reason, however i'd recommend buying a great pair of headphones and a decent mic instead.

Beyerdynamic MMX300, 240 euros. That's a lot, but you get an actual hifi headphone (DT770) with a quality microphone, very well built.

are you positive it must be a headset and not headphones and a standalone mic? headsets tend to have inferior sound quality, and the microphones included arent the best either no matter the price range
that being said: cooler master mh751, sennheiser gsp 300 both have great mics and are below 100eur a piece

kordyani'd recommend buying a great pair of headphones and a decent mic instead.

If you want a long-lasting setup this is 100% the way to go. I bought some Sennheiser HD 598's 5 years ago on sale and have used them pretty much daily. The only thing I've had to do is replace the foam ear cups like a week ago which was about $16 on Amazon.

If you don't want like a blue yeti or whatever sitting on your desk or want to have a mic arm in the way, you can get a mod mic for like $50 - $70 and just attach them to your headphones. I haven't used them before, but I've heard they're pretty good.

What dave2 said, it's probably best if you buy some audiophile headphones (any range) and slap a modmic on that. The audio quality switching from "gaming headphones" to audiophile + modmic was noticable enough that I don't think I'd ever recommend anything else.

because people don't know better

ArieBeyerdynamic MMX300, 240 euros. That's a lot, but you get an actual hifi headphone (DT770) with a quality microphone, very well built.

They are not DT770s (different driver and tuning) but they are decent if you INSIST on a headset

agreed

I would suggest looking at the Sennheiser 58X and a mod mic. They 58X sound decent and don't need a amp. Upfront cost is higher but you will save yourself money in the long run. Good headphones can last for decades (i have a pair of 30 year old beyerdynamic DT 990s) and sound better than any gaming headset you can buy.

The MMX300 driver is the same part as the DT770 32Ohm driver (My DT770 and MMX300 also sound identical to my ears): https://europe.beyerdynamic.com/catalog/product/view/id/886/
