I am honestly astonished that Valve randomly fixed this, but am not at all surprised that a few console commands can be used to work around their fix.

I'll include it in the install instructions.

EDIT: Oh wait they're already in the instructions and I'm not even using them myself rofl

I might be a bit late, but this isn't working.

It originally worked for me, but I changed some stuff around and it didn't work.

Then I changed some stuff back, and now it's just transparent and doesn't hide some of the guns I want to be hidden.

Please help lol

Not yet, possibly in the future.

Would you consider cooperating with Paysus to make a version of the mod with his overhauled animations as a base?

After I started using her animations I cannot use the default ones anymore due to how much better some of them are! But conditional viewmodels are very appealing, so it would be awesome to have the best of both worlds.

you don't just "press a specific bind", this removes the viewmodels you selected until you get rid of the VPK
other than that, i don't know what to do

After digging into this thread I realised it was most likely to be a preloading issue, and I've installed the map, edited autoexec and my launch options. My game attempts to throw me in the match, however it isn't working because I see this in console: "'preload_room.cfg' not present; not executing."

I'm guessing the game does launch into preload_room but it stops working when you start playing online? You might not have the commands below yet?

That .cfg error message happens also when you do it right.
The game just checks for a cfg file in case you have custom settings for particular maps

Also it looks like you've put the preload_rooms in your actual base Maps file which should work and not be the issue?
Though I'd recommend moving them to "Team Fortress 2\tf\download\maps" just in case. idk if it'll remove them if you ever verify files
