Hey everyone. I have an EVGA 3090 FTW Ultra on the way, mainly to be used for productivity in Blender.
That shit was expensive though, so I'd love any recommendations on great games that have been released in the past couple years. I've not just casually played single player video games since ~2010, so I'm super out of the loop. I definitely want to see how far games have come in the past few years.
I love games that tell a story and have good movement. That's literally all I care about though- open to p much anything, including "older" titles that I missed this past decade. ty gamers <3

a bit niche and definitely not what you should go for first but Far Cry 3 : Blood Dragon is really fun, has good aiming and movement mechanics, a cool aesthetic and can be done in around 10-15 hours while not feeling like just a meme.
Mentioning it instead of anything else because I don't know if many others would, and more common titles will definitely be mentioned anyway.

THEBILLDOZERDOOM
DOOM Eternal is crazy good. The game is super fast-paced, has super good movement, and has a solid difficulty curve all the way through. It's honestly worth 2 playthroughs, once through the regular difficulty, and another through Nightmare. The game is almost completely different in the way you have to approach fights and objectives on the higher difficulty.
If you like looter shooters Borderlands 3 is very enjoyable. The storyline can progress a little slow, but there is a ton to explore and all the characters are fun to play (if you like moving fast play Zane). Clustertruck has interesting movement and is a fun game to mindlessly zone into. Enjoy the 3090, I'm certain you've earned it.

Rain world has really good movement but it doesn't require a 3090 and u will probably hate it.

This. Hands down by far the best game I have ever played, nothing comes even close to it imo, if you like the genre those money are gonna be worth it just by this game alone

edit 24 chunk render distance (max in rtx) averages just under 100fps when staying in the same area, ~60 with some bad spikes when loading a lot of new chunks (like flying around in creative). will update when the 3090 gets here lol

ghostrunner just came out, it's really pretty and has some of the best movement i've felt in a game.
