Continuing along their path to plant a flag in every corner of the earth in TF2, GlobalClan EU are taking their second stab at the EU cake in Season 38, with a fresh complexion.

While the name has stuck, the roster itself is under new management, with the only carry-over from their 7th place finish in Season 37 being ixy. Pocket Charlie is bringing over their teammate from Season 37 on Scout flick. Together, they finished 5th under the new team banner.

Joining them on the Soldier class is veteran Matthes. They're coming off of a bottom finish with Alvin and the britmunks. Historically their record in Premiership hasn't always been the greatest. However, their experience as a mainstay in top online play for a number of seasons. As well as a fixture at LAN, most notably picking up 4th place with FAINT Gaming EU at Copenhagen Games 2019, proves they're no slouch picking up the rocket launcher here.

Making their Premiership debut with the roster is daga. In ETF2L they're coming off of a close loss in Div 2, to the FC Ferdi frenchies. More recently they've made their way through the open qualifiers in the second Lockdown Throwdown with the CLIQUE mix, falling in the round of 16 to the eventual winners, nerdRage.

Rounding out the combo on Medic is Doughy. Probably best known for their time in various iterations of THE THEORISTS. Like Matthes, he has some LAN credentials to boast, most notably ending Copenhagen Games 2019 at 5-6th, beating out Orachiladas to stay afloat in the lower bracket. While not necessarily known for top-prem results, he brings some needed experience to the roster.

The team did compete with this roster in the recent Locked & Loaded 2 online cup. After a rough time in the Invite groups, GlobalClan EU managed to take a semifinals run, including a very convincing 2-0 win over Ora Elektro in the quarterfinals, before they eventually fell again to the eventual winners of is 4 frenchies the winning number? A tweaked lineup featuring jeven and Jorge also appeared in the Preseason Cup, where they earned another semifinal finish with significant performances from daga.

GlobalClan owner Moixxoi gave us their thoughts on picking up their newest roster in TF2:

Sticking around in EU for us as an organization was really a give in. EU is incredibly entertaining and having a roster with players such as charlie and flick make it even better. I know even some of these other teams want to be us, (cough cough Goblin Clan) but listen guys there is only one GC. Also big shoutouts to ixy, as he is the only recurring player from our last season roster. As well to the other organizations showing EU some love such as nerdrage and FAINT. Even though I obviously care a lot about our org and our success, I care more about the healthy ecosystem that TF2 esports has, and with that we need as much exposure and support as possible. Anyways I hope we can put on some good matches and you can watch the young hotshot charlie pop off this season and we can win some games. Oh and as always #GlobalDomination

We also reached out to the man in charge Charlie for a couple of words:

TEAMFORTRESS.TV: Seeing as you've carried over flick from last season, what are your thoughts on him as a player?

Charlie: Last season flick showed some signs of potential and during off-season cups and scrims he was mint and I think he's proven himself to be a top player and he is still improving; recently he started drinking warm milk (with a spoon of sugar of course) in a soothing bubble bath before scrims and it's done a world of good for his aiming skills.

TEAMFORTRESS.TV: Entering a season with what most would say are a few clear favourites, where are you hoping to end up?

Charlie: There are definitely favourites in the season but we are 100% aiming for playoffs and we aren’t gonna rule out going for a top 3 finish. A more personal aim is to place above Kritzberg for Defence, their roster is totally deserving of the div they got after competing in Qualifiers so any games vs them will be important for us to win.

As a team we all get along super well so after the lockdown ends we’re looking to go on a little holiday together, we were thinking either Flamingo Land or camping in the Lake District.
