kbtoIs casual and competitive defined by the format and not the attitude of the players?
The format of FACEIT incentivizes more competitive playing: you get points for winning, which means that if you decide to fuck around with some silly loadout etc. Different formats attracts different players; it would be an uphill battle for casual players to try to play casually in PUGs instead of Valve pubs.
kbtoand the claim about the balancing being awful about how it's always rolls and they need a working elo system would just turn it into a competitive mode as people would now care about win / loss.
A working ELO system is not the same as caring about win / loss. A behind-the-scenes ELO system would mean that players play with their respective skill ranges. But having a ranking system that (roughly) displays that ELO incentivizes getting better and is what creates value of that win / loss. If you are a casual player and just want to fuck around, you don't want to care about raising your ELO; you just want to be in the right ELO: I assume that casual players don't really want to try, but still want to get a kill and win every once in a while.
kbtoloud uneducated hyper casual players who don't even know what they want
That is pretty patronizing. It's not like these casual players are just where the special-ed kids go; it's the majority of the player base. They probably know what they want.
kbtoso many of these players take a hive mind opinion off of some god awful video
This whole thread is a circlejerk. I actually quite like FaceIt: it's much more gratifying to win and get kills when everyone is actually trying, and there are no bots.

I still don't see why people who don't like Faceit just don't play them... If it ruins the casual nature just go back to casual then.

I've seen groups of 2-4 guys join on sunshine (the fastest map to lose on) and pick medic and then afk in the spawn basically. So that sabotages the team into getting rolled real quick and they still pick up a ton of ladder points or whatever they're farming. Annoying. At least hit them with the thumbs-down report thingy after the game ends.
Overall I find these faceit pubs to be very enjoyable. It's refreshing when most of the people in the game aren't day-1-noobs and are actually trying and playing the objective. And no random crits and no hackerbots.

idk, the league system is kinda retarded past like whatever the fuck rank you start losing points at. theres 0 incentive to try unless youre in a stack because pubbers have been lobotomised or some shit other than that add pro versions of maps

BumFreezecre-8is it time for me to revive 6v6 tf2 faceit? i can do so. i just need legitimate support thatll increase my emotional stability for this community.
thanks for the offer but i think i'll wait for the official launch
there will be no official launch because of what happened last time. remember TF2PL? that sucked major balls, i called them out when i was even worse than i am now, and they died due to RGL and that place sucks too. i will rebel if i have to.

I find it so frustrating that we have the chance to improve on casual yet everyone wants to keep everything exactly the same. FACEIT has said they are against using custom maps like product/badwater_pro. Why? They could even go as far as implementing balance changes decided by the community - buffing weapons that have no use. But nah, we cant possibly change anything about this 13 year old game beyond random crits.

the premium medic mission is such an insane grind that this is pretty much the only way to complete it and the other missions in time.
pretty unfortunate

- New shop items
- New ladders and point resets
Changes for the future
- New matchmaking algorithm to improve balance
- Anticheat improvements, as well as less players being required to run the anticheat
- 12v12 premade matches called "clan wars"
- A more casual replacement for quickplay, separate from Faceit's current matchmaking
- Servers for Asia, Australia, and South America (no timeframe on these except that they'll be after they're happy with the state of Faceit matchmaking)
