Not sure if I should have made a thread for this.
Has anyone from the Tip of the Hats staff notified Valve/The Team Fortress team of the amazing event our community hosted this last weekend? I just think the teamfortress.com site should put up an article on the homepage commending Seanbud and the rest of the team. And of course hand out some community weapons.
Perhaps they just haven't gotten around to it.

I think the whole event makes a very good impression of the competitive TF2 community. Good enough for Valve to reconsider their lack of concrete support of 6v6 TF2. I mean, could anyone imagine the CS:GO community having the incentive to do an event like this?
While community weapons and an official thank you from Valve would be fantastic, I think the event should be wake-up call for Valve of what this community is capable of.

Valve will not start supporting competitive outside of highlander.
stop hoping they will.
A fundraiser for a charity event does not mean they'll make any money out of competitive TF2.
just stop.

If Valve wants to support competitive TF, they'll need to make TF3 first. It's too late to actually solidify TF2 as a competitive game, so it's pointless trying to make it make money for Valve.

Sad thing is, there is more truth to downpour's post than immortal's. Immortal's is what you all want to hear, downpour's is the hard truth. There's still no reason for Valve to center any focus on a very small percentage of the game.

It's the 2nd most play gamed on steam usually(2nd to Dota), I think there is still a POSSIBLE chance that Valve can consider respecting the game/format/competitive scene a bit more now at the LEAST. I agree with both downpour and immortal, after so long, it's hard to think they'd care, but this event is probably the most we've ever done as a community and for society. I'm thinking there's a chance.

Exactly, hooky might be right by saying it's "too late" to fully support comp TF2 on the same scale as CS:GO and Dota. The opportunity to acknowledge the 6v6 format and its community is still easily possible. Valve could relay players that are tired of pubs and want more of a challenge straight to teamfortress.tv for example, even that would be a step in the right direction. Supporting the game doesn't necessarily have to be the same thing as supporting the community.

There hasn't even been a blog post about the LAN that starts tomorrow.

Sean and I were talking about it before he had to leave. I think we had decided that we should wait until One Step Camp throws something up, but I think I might aim to draft something for them today hopefully (..while still doing unusuals/stranges) :d

They did this with a reaction time of just a few hours, even.
I do not know if anyone has sent an email to Valve regarding the Tip of the Hats fundraiser or ESEA LAN but usually they post stuff like LANs etc, if they are not on vacation or hosting another edition of The International (i.e. can spare a couple of minutes). At least from my experience.
