Does this help/hurt fps? and will it clash with me already using Chris' Max frames config?

How could a simple texture pack bypass sv_pure 2?
"sv_pure 2 forces the client to ignore ALL user content, and instead use the information supplied by steam. While this is the most secure, sv_pure 2 will prevent the use of even custom sprays."

My apologies. I am not sober. With sv_pure 0. I wish there was a bypass.

It may help your framerate. No it will not clash with your FPS config. I am also using -15 lod bias here as well.

NilBLoodSireso incredible, but I believe this and fov_desired will never be unrestricted because people would cry "but spies..." all the way to the submit complaint button
probably because it's a legitimate issue and ruining other people's preferred game styles to improve ours would be quite selfish.
The problem is that FOV is already effectively uncapped because people can obtain higher FOV using wide resolutions (especially with multiple monitors). I'd rather they increased the horizontal FOV cap, but made it the same regardless of resolution.
Currently a 16:9 resolution already gives a FOV significantly greater than 90. If they allowed a maximum of say 120, I don't think this would change the balance of the game (re. spies) very much.
Even if this was found to impair the spy class, it's better to compensate in other ways, such as modifying the decloaking time, so the spy is less reliant on blind spots and the game can be balanced over a wide range of FOVs (which are already available anyway).

ammo888On what maps does this texture pack work?
It works on all maps. I will explain what this pack does. (thanks ammo888 for linking it)
These flat texture packs simply compile all the textures in the game, and then blur them so that the color left over is the average color of that individual texture. So once it's put into the game, boom, it's a really damn clean looking version of Quake style game picmip.

I think going for it, and making the change could teach us a lot about the game and its skill cap, as well as the state of the metagame and, it could even speak to how we approach the game as a whole. I consider these changes to be growth, and I don't think a game is ever finished development.

this texture pack doesn't work on cp_process_rc2. While doing a rollout from red side, you will see some parts are just the magenta white checker pattern

Yeah that pack is a little out of date. That is a good project for someone to pick up. Finishing off that pack, perfecting it perhaps.

I just noticed, in one of your videos, Netglow TF2 CFG download + stream, hud, hitsound, it has a download link to a "fov addon". If it's OpenPlugin, I think it's best to replace the link now that it's VAC bannable, otherwise some players will download it and use it by accident o;.
P.S. I love the CSGO tweak man.

yeah I'm aware of that but I've been too lazy to fix it... I'm a bad person.

I don't expect picmip to be uncapped anytime soon, because lack of visibility is essential to many classes(sticky traps, spies, basically any flanks, etc.). Unbanning openplugin is probably as far as Valve will possibly go.

OpenPlugin contains the feature of an uncapped mat_picmip. ;)

if you are basing this on moose's VAC ban, please dont be dumb.
if there are other comp TF2 player who have been banned for OpenPlugin use, please share who they are!

Disabled plug-ins that would allow users to connect to secure game servers even when -insecure is specified on the command line
Continued use of such plug-ins will risk your Steam account getting VAC banned
pretty sure he's basing it on this
