I am in need of an extension cord for my headphones but i don't want to waste time buying a cheap one that ruins sound quality, anyone bought one they'd recommend?
I don't think it can really decrease sound quality. It's not very complicated technology
i don't any recommendations but i'd just like to reinforce what you already said -- don't buy cheap ones
i keep buying these $5 extension cords and they eventually die on me in a couple months, making me buy a new one

Get the cheapest ones you can find that don't look like spaghetti, don't get a longer cable than you need. Don't expect these cables to last for years. I got a bunch from DealExtreme.
radio shack has some pretty durable ones for ~$10. at least they did like 8 years ago
Honestly, if you're asking this question, then you're probably not an audiophile and your headphones are probably not insane quality. You're probably using either onboard sound or something like a Creative sound card.
If this sounds like it matches your scenario, you will not hear any degradation in sound even if you use an extension from wal-mart.
Something like this would work perfectly.
