TF2 Sound in OBS?

TF2 doesn't show up on my sound card output, thus it doesn't work on stream. I can stream youtube video audio and my steam overlay beeps, but tf2 doesn't make any sound.

I used to be able to get it to work with my Blue Yeti mic, but I don't use that anymore so I'm limited in my options.

I can get TF2 sound through my Wave input, but that would take place of my microphone since OBS allows for only one output and one input. On Dxtory, I can use both my mic and Wave due to how Dxtory works, but not with OBS.

There's always the possibility of using a USB sound card if yours doesn't support certain ways of sound works.

ToastyTHTI suggest updating your sound card driver.

Definatly try this first, but I know steelseries sells a usb sound card for like 20-30 bucks.

I have my sound card driver updated. If I can get a good sounding usb card for 20-30 bucks I would gladly take it if it would fix this problem.

I am using 3.5mm headphones and a usb microphone. The headphones are plugged into the sound card and I can hear it, but when I record from my sound card's output, there is no game sound.

A little more expensive than I thought, but here it is for 40.

There's another one from creative if you want some choice. I can't find the non pro version in the US but in aussie it's 30 bucks.

I can't find any reviews of the steelseries soundcard, outside from reviews about the headset, so I'm not sure if I'm going to go with it. The creative one sounds solid, but I'll keep an eye out for other options.

Neither of these are great options. For the $30 range the best performing USB DAC is the Behringer UCA202: http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-UCA202-Audio-Interface/dp/B000KW2YEI

No idea if a usb dac will fix your problems though.

Do you have personal experience with this? If you use it yourself, you should be able to see in your Windows Sound Mixer(like I showed in the picture above) and see if Team Fortress 2 is listed. If it is, then this will work.

TF2 does appear in the sound mixer, but as I said I have no clue if that really will fix your problem.

-Is the headphone plugged into the front panel port or directly to the card?
-What driver are using? Asus or Uni drivers?
-Are there any other audio devices in Playback Devices?
-Try disabling Exclusive mode, go to your speaker properties via playback devices and check the advanced tab.
-If you have an integrated sound card, you should have it disabled via bios/firmware.

Please answer the questions.......Not just the top most one.

The headphones are plugged directly into the card.

I am using the ASUS drivers(however I might try Uni and see if it works, I used to use it before I re-installed Windows).

There are more audio devices such as my monitor's headphone output, and my onboard audio, all of which are disabled.

Disabling exclusive mode doesn't fix it.

I have my integrated sound disabled through the sound options, but not through bios/firmware, and I doubt other people have to do this in order for their audio to function properly on stream.
