Hey, I'm looking for recommendations on what games people like to play on their free time. I'm pretty bored of league and dota2, so those are out. I'm looking more for an rpg or simulation game like sim city, etc. Just looking to see what other people like to play besides tf2.
Deus Ex/Invisible War/Human Revolution
Terraria with a friend.
All the 3D Zeldas are great, Oracle of Ages/Seasons are both great, Link to the Past awesome.
Super Smash Brothers Melee.
All the Zelda games can be emulated including the 3D GC/Wii ones if you do not own the console and have a beefy enough PC.
Also quake live.

It's a solid TCG by Mojang...good interface with a nice buying/selling system

The black isle classics are solid western RPGs if you've not played them:
Baldurs Gate 1-2 (EE is available on steam + the multiplayer actually works)
Fallout 1-2 (also on steam)
PLanescape torment (the best RPG - though be prepared to "role-play" and not just kill shit and level up a bunch). You'd have to torrent or get it on GoG.
Icewind Dale 1-2(hack and slash kill things level up)
They'll all sink in tons of hours
Knights of the Old Republic 1-2 were pretty good RPGs too.
Some paradox strategy games are pretty fun too depending on how deep you like to go, crusader kings 1 is a pretty solid choice, or Europa Universalis 3, Hearts of Iron 2 if you like playing risk.
If you aren't very old school, and want a mix of RPG and RTS, heroes of might and magic 3 is also a really solid choice that can show why gaming in 1999 was in many ways superior to what we have now.

play civilization 5
currently play 6 man ffa's with some tf2 people every other day or so. Gonna start a steam group pretty soon if you're interested in playing too

Civalization V. You'll waste a whole night on it and keep playing until morning.
I wasted like 50 hours on game dev tycoon, same with ftl. I'd recommend both if you're in to sim games
Zoo Tycoon 2. Not even joking, that game killed hours of time for me, and it's so enjoyable.
Dungeon Keeper - oldie but a goodie..
War for the overworld bedrock - the above, but newer version in beta and on steam...
other than that for rpg... gw2 for some hours killed.... or if you just want mindless time killed (although i doubt hours) dopewars is always fun for a laugh in browser

KOTOR 1 is a gigantic timesink if you've never played it before/experienced the Star Wars universe before
The Ys series - lot of exploring and challenges
Serious Sam

Oh!Edo Towns by Kairosoft for iOS and Android is pretty cool, although I only played the demo. tl;dr historical Japanese Sims.
Kairosoft also has Game Dev Story which I also liked (based on the demo alone). I think the majority of their games are sim-like, actually.
