never sleep over 8 hours, make that a habit, set multiple alarams...if you have a phone set it to ring as an alarm also and use the same sound as your ringtone
I've found when I sleep over 7 I wake up more tired and stay tired throughout the day. Most people need 6-8 and going over 8 usually starts the cycle of oversleeping.

Try to clean up your diet. I know it sucks (I cleaned up mine), but you can still have a cheat day. Even if you're not a big exercise nut or lifter, you can do wonders for your energy with just eating cleaner.
Unless you already eat clean, then I'm not sure.

If you feel like shit, it's probably your diet. Stay hydrated and eat many small meals with a lot of greens throughout the day/night whenever you're awake. Avoid junk food and soft drinks. Simple.

Drink a lot of water.
Cut down on sodium.
You don't really need to go crazy with your diet, I'm in great shape and I eat my fair share of fast food, just try to balance it out. Nothing I eat is terribly healthy, but I avoid red meat like the plague and eat a lot of tofu. Just try to find something healthy that you like. The reason people feel better after switching to a diet with a lot of vegetables is because they're eating way less shit. You can drink a spirulina shake per day and get 10x the nutrition benefit than a leafy giraffe diet will get you.
If you really want to feel better, exercise - every day. Don't be a pussy, just get out there and ride a fucking bike or something. I can't count the number of times I've ridden past some overweight shitlords walking at a faster-than-snail pace with all of their fancy jogging clothes on. It's very important to push yourself. It helps a ton mentally, as well. If you can ride your bike to work, do it! 3 or 4 miles is nothing on a bike.
Night shift probably doesn't help. I was in a similar situation and it really took a toll on me.
Also, drink tea in the morning if you don't like coffee!

An important thing as well is to get an alarm that is as annoying as possible. You can even set a lot of them to play the radio. I play the local morning zoo to wake myself up, since they're pretty much aural vomit. I get too used to normal alarms, but hearing terrible people saying terrible, unfunny things helps me wake up, just for the sake of shutting them up.

I actually eat pretty healthily. I could probably take more vitamins though, I've cut down too much on that the past couple of years.

You just need an actual reason to get up. Strap a guillotine to your junk and if you don't get up.. You can no longer meatshits.

MarxistThen when you get days off SLEEP AT NIGHT - it will feel so good, even if you have to stay up for unusual amounts of time to get it. Your body will crave sleeping in the dark.

I think he's saying to sleep at night on your days off, then when you go to work, take a nap beforehand. That sounds rather uncomfortable to me and I think I'll stick to trying to get back an 8 hour sleep schedule at noon.

#30 rofl i tried that uberman nap thing, where u take 6 20 min naps throughout the day, my body could not handle that and i slept through my 20 min nap the 2nd day, it's a hell of a lot better than pulling an all nighter/dayer

...I'm tempted to say that maybe if ya stop JERKING OFF before ya sleep or after it or consistently throughout the day then you'll likely be able to control your sleep cycle, but that'd be stupid to say.
But drinking lots of water and eating 'em vitamins are good ways to go.
