I think this is a great step in the right direction, I do just wish Swiftwater could've been something else.
Only thing is, AFAIK, there's really nothing 'proven' for pl that could've been there instead, besides borneo, but a lot of people refused to play it. (My team did, and had fun.)

RawrSpoonmghughlaurieshould replace barnblitz and it'd be perfect
To be fair, it's pro3 which is an as-of-yet unplayed version afaik
The last of pro3 is really bad imo. The whole ramp up to middle left side was so much better as a lane to the bottom left. I don't get why he changed it.

Yeah I would like to see granary eventually phased out of HL. The mid is just so awkward and awful.
The reason barnblitz is an interesting pick for week 3 is because the last point essentially makes it possible for a weaker team to beat a stronger team if they pick defense first (weeks 3-5 generally have the most upset potential anyway). Any time you have point like that in a payload where you can defend for very long periods of time tends to wear out and discourage the offensive team. That momentum shift is why defense first teams statistically win most of the time. At least that's the current theory anyway. So other payloads have this issue as well but that last point on barnblitz is just ridiculous. Although I heard that this was a newer version from season 9? In that case I hope last is easier to push.

There's an RC3 out right now. Last doesn't look any easier to push still as the change to the left flank still leads to a massive killzone for the defending team. The move of the top spawn to the bottom is decent though as defense won't get miracle spawns with immediate higher ground.

I'd like to see the summer season be a real season and not just a prolonged, ineffective map test.

pharaoh__I'd like to see the summer season be a real season and not just a prolonged, ineffective map test.
I wouldn't say it's ineffective. It's one of the only times I've actually got cp_edifice tested, with actual teams, giving actual feedback. People just don't seem to want to test maps outside of the 'summer season' thing. Even if the feedback isn't the best, it's better than none and removing the 'map testing' part of the summer season would probably be a really bad thing for map creators (since there is barely any way to get maps tested in the first place!)

was agreeing up until the last bit
Only saying this because the removal of the two points and how scoring works in halves is no longer Godawful. It's actually fun now, and it's a hell of a lot better "alternative" game mode than ctf (which has been in normal season numerous times) or payload race (plr_waste was the pre-season map in S9).
quintoshgpit in semifinals maybe?
gpit is prone to causing upsets so having it in playoffs would likely result in better teams being gayed because if you lose B to the first push attempt offense takes you're fucked. I don't think anyone would ever advocate a stopwatch non-payload map for playoffs. I also feel it's a horrible choice map for a tie-breaker in ESEA finals if the lower bracket team take badlands.

Not playing dom_canalzone again, tried it in S7 and in a map test pug about a month ago map still sucks, the fact you complain about GPit and not Canalzone is puzzling to say the least.
Also Swiftwater is a ok map, but not good enough to warrant being in every season.

pretty much the modern highlander maps, it will be fun.

After scrimming with borneo a bit ,I think it has potential. It's just kinda quirky, not sure if there are standard sentry spots or holds for the map just yet.
Only problem I have with this season maplist is granary , I really detest the map. Also barnblitz looks better. It hasn't been tested that much with the new flank but it definitely looks harder to defend last point. So that's good and stuff.
