SideshowESA is dying, p2p cups that are optional do not work as was totally obvious from the beginning. It also doesn't have anything close to the system that ESEA has and can't offer the same support.
Leagues however do work, and the top scene would certainly move to ESEA as would most of the intermediate players if it was as well organised as ETF2L is now. This is awesome news!

Ma3laaif a lot of the im/ open moveup teams die having main and IM is going to be really stupid
this kinda solves the problem because now all the teams that would be shitting on those lower IM teams are gonna play main

I think this is great, the only real problem I have with this is that IM skill level will decrease DRAMATICALLY. With the top 10 teams going into Main, that means the teams that went 8-8 will literally be the best teams in IM next season. I think there needs to be an effort to grow IM more for a couple seasons before this.

so many invite teams are dead or dying now it likely won't be 12 teams again anyhow, so there's that 9 is within reason, still properly rewarding the IM winners of this season with an invite spot and so on, with a solid main from the rest of IM.

I believe ESEA only wants divisions of even numbers, and playoffs in squares of 2. Wish they would at least have 9 teams in invite.
