Optimal settings for non-partners allows viewing on mobile and consoles, sweet
So basically I can't stream audio in higher quality starting soon? And a few other smmall things.
the audio encode changes don't really make any sense unless they're just trying to force people into using aac or something, mp3's threshhold of transparency is roughly 192 which is hardly any more than 128 and really should have nothing to do with issues on mobile but whatever

that still has to do largely with encoding bitrate. all they're doing is enforcing a constant bitrate and not a bitrate cap, so I suspect a lot of mobile devices will still have lag issues
regarding the keyframe change, you can set that in your OBS in advanced settings under the custom x264 encoder settings by adding keyint=x with x being the fps you stream at * 2, but there are already plans to add a keyframe option into obs directly in the next version

I started streaming and it said minimal because my max keyframe interval wasn't 2. I changed it to two and my quality went to absolute shit instantly. idk
My mind is exploding trying to figure out how to make a strict CBR for my stream.
i've got my stream bitrate at 3800 and my fps at 40, veryfast preset. So would this be correct settings?
vbvmaxrate=3800 keyint=80 rc-lookahead=10 bufsize=855 tune=animation

Don't set it to "2", set it to "FPS x 2".

Keyframe-int is measured in frames, not seconds. Setting it to "2" will insert a keyframe every other frame.
oh, wow. thanks

yes you would have keyint 80 for 40fps, don't recognize off my head what the rest of those are for

Wait 30 seconds while streaming and then refresh.
Edit: This worked for me, at least.
