so i recently upped my sensitivity on scout from 5.5 per 360 to 8.2 per 360. Im finding 8.2 more comfortable already, except when im playing soldier/demo/medic. I dont have much armspace so i mainly rely on just moving my wrist and playing on 8.2 is extremely hard imo for projectile classes. SO is it advised to have different sensitivities for different classes? because ive heard that in the long run doing that can just fuck with you and that you should keep your sens the same on all classes. Not sure what to do.
No. Go into the restroom and take a dump. You'll find your answer.
spoiler: the answer is... do whatever the fuck you want.

If it really bothers you you can always try mouse accel.
The reason you're using your wrist is because that's all you had to do at 5.5in/360. Just keep playing at 8.2 and you'll start actually using your arm eventually.
its all preference, always has been and always will be
some people like having the same for every class, others not so much. so don't over think it...adjust your sens accordingly and just use whatever you're comfortable with

As silly as it sounds, it just depends on how your brain works. I am a twitch aimer. I use around 1.6-1.8 inches per 360 on all classes. It doesn't matter whether I use my normal sensitivity or not. I can raise my sensitivity to 15 inches per 360 and I will still flick aim. Sure, the flicks will be less drastic, but they'll still be there. If I really focused for days and days on not twitch-aiming, I'm sure I could do it, but my brain's natural tendency is to flick shots.
There were/are a lot of quake players who used/use different sensitivities for different weapons with good results. It's just something you'll get used to using after a while. If you want to use a higher sensitivity for projectile classes, do it. Your brain and body are capable of learning more than one sensitivity. Changing your aim style is what will be difficult--if that's your goal.

does anyone have a script which enables a class to have different sens for different weapons? like slot 1 would have a diff sens from slot 2 etc.

Easy, something like:
- scout.txt
alias weapon_one "weapon_slot 1; sensitivity 5.5"
bind MWHEELUP weapon_one
Or whatever the proper commands are

Basically what defy and smaka said...
There is no right or wrong sensitivity. Use whatever feels comfortable to you. Don't worry about what sens banny, clockwork, tlr, or anyone else uses. Just because it works for them doesn't mean it will for you. If you are going to experiment with a new sens I would raise/lower it a tiny bit at a time until it feels good for you. Randomly jumping around to completely different sensitivities will throw you off.

some people use binds on their mouse to change their sens to a lower sens when using hitscan and then use a higher sens for projectiles. For example Soldier's rocket launcher (mouse 4 5.0 sens), Soldier's Shotgun (mouse 5 3.5 sens). And then back in forth of what weapon they use.

Do you use number keys or mousewheel to switch weapons?

In the end, it's all preference. Even if you have different sensitivities for each class, you'll still develop the muscle memory for every single class's sensitivity.

maybe not the MOST effective way of doing things but this is how I do them (I use Q,E,F instead of 1,2,3)
alias primary "slot1; r_drawviewmodel 1; sensitivity 3"
alias secondary "slot2; r_drawviewmodel 1; sensitivity 3"
alias melee "slot3; r_drawviewmodel 1; sensitivity 3"
bind 1 primary
bind 2 secondary
bind 3 melee
You can easily change viewmodel/sensitivity settings with that. I also use my own version of the crosshair switcher so that's tacked on at the end in my config.

thanks for all the comments and advice. i decided to actually put my keyboard on my lap and play it feels fine. Im also going to only have 8.2/360 on scout/snipe/heavy and keep 5.5 on all other classes. : ]
