record a tf2 video in 60 and 120 fps...
slow it down by half, so it becomes 30fps and 60fps. Not framerate conversion, slow the clip down like slow motion.

With lightboost its pretty close, without lightboost CRT is much better.

Hey great so you found out 120hz>60hz. Now you need to know CRT vs LCD.
LCD:
cheaper to run. Uses less electricity.
Puts out less heat (if that matters)
Thinner
Better looking?
CRT:
Less input lag
A lot cheaper. (You can get them on craigslist usually under 50 bucks)
Amazing color and picture quality. Adjustable resolution.
Overall go with CRT to start. I did, I love mine. I'll consider an LCD one when they work out the kinks and drop in price. Or when my CRT dies lol.

If you have money to spend, buy a 120/144 Hz (doesn't matter which) monitor. I recommend the ASUS VG248QE. There's only a little more input lag these days than CRTs, and colors are good if you're not picky (and if you are, then you'll need to wait for IPS 120Hz monitors).
If you only have $100 or something like that, find a CRT. Or you could save up for an LCD, especially if you're low on desk space.
