I don't know about you, but I cannot stand watching youtube videos for a step by step. The best way to learn about building is starting at the manual for the mobo, remember that not all motherboards need the same about of screws to the case. When it comes to the CPU, you don't need a lot of thermal paste and slowly make sure no pins are missing the point. After that, install the CPU cooler, again use the manual for the specific one. A lot of them can use a few sockets, so each one might be a little different. After that refer to the mobo manual for what connections go to where, like CPU fan, sys fan, yadda yadda, and the rest is pretty easy.
The newegg videos are hands down the best ones I could find on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw
Carey Holzman's videos are quite informative and easy to follow.
No thermal paste and not caring about static electricity on that video is not good, while I kinda understand it is a joke by her being in bra and panties, but if you have any animals that amount of static that is in the air is insane.
PS- I only got one minute in before I got sick of it, so it may have good tips after.
PPS- No, it doesn't get better, half the shit wasn't it hooked up to the mobo
