Hey, this may seem liek a strange request but is there a way i can turn off all audio bar hitsounds (and maybe spy decloaking) I've been playing around with no sound for a while now because I was listening to some podcasts and I found that my aim is much better with no sound. I don't know, it seems that I slow it down or think more I have no idea. But obviously hitsounds are pretty required to know if I hit something off screen, so if there is an option please do help.

Thank you.

It's not possible on pure servers, but I guess you could on other servers if you just edit all the sounds so they are quiet.

I think it could be possible but it would be an incredible pain in the ass to do and would not work on sv_pure 2 servers. If you somehow found all the gamesounds in tf2 and replaced them with empty files except for like spy decloaking and hitsound it would probably work but i'm not sure if that'd be worth the time and effort.

The easiest way to do this would be to making an outrageously loud hitsound (huge gain in audacity or something similar), which would destroy audio quality, and turn down game volume a lot. It's not a good idea to begin with though, positional audio is really important for competitive games. Any better performance when not listening to the game was probably a fluke or a placebo effect, you're better off with sound on.
