So for my "History of the English Language" course, I need to practice phonemics for an upcoming quiz and pieces of early english reading material. The professor said that the best way to understand phonemics is to translate song lyrics from normal english to phonemic lines. I did 6 lyrics and he helped me pick out what I did wrong, but I want to do some more practice.
Give me some lyrics to translate. Can't be too short or too repetitive. Will post translations for those curious. Thanks in advance!

I think your professor wants you to transcribe the lyrics in your own accent rather than using what the vocalist's pronunciation would be, otherwise it'd be really difficult to pick out and differentiate between phonemes through the accompanying music and singing idiosyncrasies.
Not sure what dialect you use, but if you use an American dialect, "bong" should be transcribed as b?? and "towards" as [t?wa?dz] or something similar.

Yeah, my translation of bong is a mistake. Are you sure about towards? Because the schwa doesn't sound like it belongs - are you saying "ta-wardz" or "twardz"?
