mumble overlay, win 8 wont work

So, I have window 8 desktop, and play tf2, pretty self explanatory.

I want to use mumble overlay, and it won't show up, not without the no3d9x thing, I'm using dx9, no config whatsoever.

I am even using mumble 1.2.5 and it won't work, what would I do to get it working?

@Holyshizno - yup, always
@Fog - Yup, I did that.
@1.2.4 beta didn't work for me, everytime I download the beta off the website, it says I'm about to install mumble 1.2.5

Any other works?

That, didn't work actually.

Re install mumble you mean Holy? cause I tried even removing mumble all-together via add/remove and re-installing.

That didn't work.

I was told anything before 1.2.4 was not compatible with windows 8, not sure if that would even work?

did you turn the overlay on?

did you accidentally make the overlay ridiculously small or move it in a manner you wouldn't see it?

Nah, I even put the bounding boxes on, just to test.

Every time I put, say 2XX, I apply, but when I restart tf2, the antialias is back to none. what the heck?

You have to have some kind of config that you're using for FPS if it keeps doing that. If you don't have any FPS config, put mat_antialias 2 in your autoexec

Did that, antialias was on, but my mumble overlay was still NOT showing. I don't understand.

At this point the only thing I'm thinking is running mumble in administrator mode. If that doesn't work then I don't know what else I can do for you

Yeah, it didn't work, I ran in dx8 and 9, I ran with -no3dx9x thing on and off, I ran with admin mode on and off, I ran with it hl2.exe being in the whitelist of mumble overlay on and off, I ran without configs, I ran using antialias 2 and 0, I ran mumble before Steam, and even that didn't work, I'm using Mumble 1.2.5 and that didn't work.

I DON't KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO, can anyone actually confirm who this does work, use mumble 1.2.4 beta? or is it 1.2.5?

I had this trouble for months.

Here was my progress on this issue

Was using max quality on dxlevel 98

>Updated mumble from 1.2.3 to 1.2.4 > Overlay still broken
>Changed back to dx8 config > Overlay Fixed
>Changed back to dx9 config since I dont like maxframes > Overlay Broken again
>Changed back from dx9 config maxquality to high quality (dxlevel 98 to 95) > Overlay still broken
>Kept the gfx config and used -no3dx9x launch option > Ta, da! Mumble overlay finally fixed in win 8.

Haven't tried updating to the beta version tho

I'm using 1.2.4 and it works fine for me.

Edit: I really need to stop opening threads then typing a reply 10 minutes later.

Wait, so you said running highquality at dx95 with the no3d9x launch option, shows the mumble overlay?
