I barely play roamer, but when I do I always use shotgun. It has it's good uses.

i like sg but restriction on mobility + in most cases dying before you'd ever expend your sg ammo anyways means why bother

This is really interesting because I'm almost sure that nobody in EU uses shotgun any more, even for last defences (tbh I would but I really can't be bothered going to the spawn and changing most times given how buggy loadouts can be). Might experiment a bit more.

I run shotty 24/7 minus mid fights, its makes you a 1 man DM house

shotgun was the only reason why I was a good roamer, gunboats made me shit.

You can play roamer well either way, but like craig said above, most of the time you're doing "roaming play" will involve dying before your shotgun is a factor. That being said, bombing with the shotgun can be incredibly good since you don't need to have 3 rockets loaded to guarantee a medic kill.
