What most people are forgetting is tf2lobby, although shitty, is most new players' first taste of competitive tf2. For all the talk of wanting to grow the player base no one seems to want to do anything about it. Imagine if the first ever competitive match you ever played had some asshole sniper that got 800dpm. Would you really want to keep playing? What if you were new and saw this thread. Would you really want to be a part of a community that allows invite players (or any players for that matter) to cheat in low level games as long as they did it on an alt account?
I wasn't going to respond seriously in this thread because I felt that the majority of the people posting here weren't concerned with me cheating, but rather were using this incident as an excuse to flame/hate on me. However, I have been persuaded to post for anyone who is genuinely interested in what I did and why I did it.
1-2 months ago I hacked in a few lobbies, pubs, and in mge while on an alt account. I used the hack for a few days before stopping. Since then I have not hacked and I never plan on hacking again. I didn't even know that the account was vac banned until this thread was made.
I hacked because I was curious and bored. I had never hacked before and wanted to try it. It was fun at first. I found instant satisfaction in performing as well as I wanted without having to work for it. But it quickly became dull as I realized how counterproductive it was towards my goal of being successful in invite.
I could never hack in a match or at lan, nor would I want to. I love playing this game competitively and I would never risk my ability to play in esea by cheating. It simply isn't worth it to me.
I regret hacking. It worsened my already bad reputation. It's causing people to dislike and distrust me. It has resulted in multiple bans on servers I enjoyed playing on. I don't blame anyone but myself for the consequences. I hope that in time people can forgive me, but I don't expect anyone to do so.

ZillyhooDoes this end this delicious thread?
We have yet to take collections for how long it will take before another of his alts surfaces on MGE
Over/under is a week

Kudos for manning up Phrakture and taking your lumps and not going with the dog ate my homework routine.

Yeah because after 15 pages of pretending it wasn't happening he definitely manned up.
I'm going to openly state that I don't believe the apology of someone as psychotically narcissistic as you'd have to be to farm MGE ELO on alts. However, I'm sure most people in the community will be satisfied that he at least appears to be apologetic.

in fairness at least he eventually decided to face the music instead of coming up with excuses which probably counts for something im not the powers that be but if i were that would definitely factor in to whatever happens next

Because he knew that there would be positive reactions if he gave an "honest" excuse.

The thread has almost come full circle. We just need the "you're not sorry" posts and we can be done.
Phrakture came confess into thread only after MGE ban. You may say it's a coincidence, but...

I appreciate your honesty, but do not bullshit me and tell me you love competitive TF2. Players who love competition can understand the intrinsic value of being able to abide by the basic rules of fair play, which, by cheating, you clearly do not understand. Your disregard shows a complete lack of empathy for the TF2 community.
Boredom and curiosity do not explain such a massive lapse in judgment. I hope you take this as an opportunity to learn and to remove your head out of your own asshole.

he's probably serious about what he said, but he should have just said it earlier and then itd be okay.
obviously there will still be distrust and dislike, and it may take years for him to get ANY kind of rep back, if he works for it. But at least something happened.

That is almost a perfectly constructed apology that I'm sure everyone will slurp up, but being 'bored' is about the lamest excuse I've ever heard. At least blame your brother who just happens to have the same voice as you. When a normal person is bored, they stop playing, or go play a different game. Playing in competitive leagues and being a part of the competitive community is a privilege. If you held it in any regard you wouldn't cross that massive line into becoming a cheater and expect to still be able to participate in it. Now that someone took away a privilege from you (i.e. being able to play on a community MGE server) you own up to it but say never again. You only made that alleged decision after determining that the cheats did not fill some void for you. Sure.
If this community has any sense you will be banned from leagues and ostracized, but I doubt it.

damn dude that is incredibly pretentious and angry over someone cheating in video games
Like yeah don't cheat that makes sense but just ban people and move on and don't apply some moral high ground to it

I honestly don't get all the drama here.
He tried out some hacks on an alt account once. Big deal.

are you sorry for cheating? or are you sorry that you got caught?

haven't we been permanently mad at anyone else who has hacked with 0% chance for forgiveness?
as a question for those defending phrakture, what makes him different? I'm not picking sides cause I'm a pussy, I'm just asking what people who are defending him would respond.
