If they had just blatantly stolen the layout of reddit comments and reddit's account system it would be fine.

I actually didn't care much when the layout was changed. But they're making you have a google+ account to do anything. I've no idea why are they still on the retarded idea that everyone likes g+ which is simply shit.

If you look at it from another perspective this is also a way to give companies more voice in the comment sections and simply hide the public opinion, meaning they will certainly get more advertising revenue and companies betting hard on google+, since it now gives priority to google+ accounts comments.

From the last 3-4 videos I have seen in the technology field the top comment is always either by the Intel, AMD, or Microsoft google plus page, meaning that those brands already have an establishing following and just commenting on something through google plus gives them instant top spot in the video comment sections.

Pretty smart from google from a business point of view, pretty dumb from them from a costumer service point of view, you cant just neglect your userbase and so thoroughly ignore them

I think what is going to happen is so predictable. People are gonna sign up and sign in to goolge+ only to comment on youtube videos, so google+ will now be the house of every youtube comment and still a piece of shit that no one is gonna actually use to communicate with their friends.

Google's name is now associated with it. Before it was just "I hate the new youtube layout" now people are complaining because they need a Google+ account. Most people don't know that Google makes all of the youtube changes. We will have to wait and see what they do.

Google+ doesn't suck in my opinion, actually I think it's drastically better and cleaner than Facebook, Twitter, and other popular sites. People just dislike it because their friends are not on it.

Google knows that people won't ever leave Youtube, so they're using this as an opportunity to expand the google empire further, and I can't say I blame them. If it doesn't work out as they planned, they can change it back, and they won't face any repercussions from it.

The only good thing about this is the comment nesting if 1 comment has a lot of replies. Other than that, this thing is fucking stupid and it's obvious they are trying to promote G+. They've been asking me to use my real name for over a year now and constantly ask me to sign up.

Why is that guy complaining? Because he comes back to see his creation turned into a horrible nightmare. YT wasn't created for evil intentions, but it's obvious that that's what Google is trying to do.

If you think about it, getting people to use their real name is a genius idea. Imagine everyone on Youtube used their real name. There would be a significantly less trolling, abhorrent racism and merciless raging: anonymity has allowed people to hide behind their PC's and verbally attack people without fear of consequences, and actual names will obviously deter that.

Companies would even be more willing to display their content on Youtube if it wasn't for the absolutely disgraceful and belligerent community that it houses. ESPN, NBC, FOX, CBS, and etc. could easily make a Youtube-based web joint where they could deliver content online, but they won't, because taking the Youtube community seriously is almost impossible.

Also, Youtube may be running out of usernames. There might be massively long combinations of names people can use, but they are starting to become unintelligible because newcomers to Youtube can't pick the names that they would like. So instead, they just pick names like "kejfwbibvwlooooool234" or "cooochiemaneskimo9". It gets even more difficult to pick a name because people also make multiple accounts. If Youtube lasts as long as we expect it to, in a few years, name combinations will run scarce, as opposed to sites like Facebook and Twitter - who don't tell you that your name is taken because well, it's your name. In terms of usernames, Google/Youtube made a good choice.

The Google+ forced integration is a good business decision, but it does ultimately take a lot of enjoyment and time out of the regular person.
