I might be mistaken but the vg248qe already does this along with benq's 120hz as well. also this looks cool but maybe not for 800 dollars as people have said

Keep in mind that it's 27". Benq 27" monitors are not too far off in terms of price. Atleast not in Canada.

The asus does this but the crosshairs are terrible and take up a giant portion of the screen. It makes it really hard for me to see what im pointing at when i use it

Just got a new nvidia gpu so i'd like to use that g-sync feature time to start saving (and maybe wait for the price to drop a bit)

Only $800? Brb, getting eyefinity setup.

Do we need a big CES thread? I predict a lot of these threads popping up over the next few days.
On the monitor, I wonder what kind of hardware we all need to run some of the new games at 120fps consistently at 1440p.

there are already 1440p monitors that can be reliably overclocked to 120hz for way cheaper

I have a sneaking suspicion g-sync isn't nearly as difficult to add to something as these early price hikes indicate. Being able to vary refresh rate would be a huge bonus to just about any screen to save power, so I'm betting it'll become standard in short order.
Slightly related, I stand strong behind my 1440p PLS from korea for 300$. A TN screen at 800$ is pretty weak even if with an impressive feature list.
