Hello. Inspired by Pheesh's cool thread I decided to make a poll where the data will be collected and run through rigorous testing in order to answer life's greatest mystery: How much does a "good" monitor help you?
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/13A-pQnaapUxfHOb86oSB7XVc6M4ATHHBvC7aDi4lIyo
What I need is for you fine folks to check out your stats from this season of ESEA and fill in the required fields in the poll above. All specific identifying information will be kept under wraps. Please answer honestly. The fate of BenQ's stock price may depend on it. And while you're at it, why not send the link to your teammates!

Are we taking this seriously?
Anyways, I picked up the BenQ Xl2420te while it was on sale for under $280 on Amazon. And the difference is night and day between 60 and 120Hz. Colors are a bit different from my previous samsung generic spec monitor.
If you can't tell the difference you are probably using an HDMI or VGA cable.

I understand why you put "we." I too, don't believe in free will. Although keep in mind it takes like 15 seconds to put down 420 for all your answers and 1 second for me to delete that response. Shoutout to the couple of dudes who have done that already, epic boys... Simply epic :^)

Please share your methods afterwards oh ggglygy, master of statistics.

shit
Should've put damage as well as DPM. Would've allowed you to divide damage by the minutes played, and easily see who's bullshitting.

better players take the game more seriously and have been playing it for a longer time. these better players are probably in higher divisions, and have better stats than players who do not take the game as seriously. Since they take the game more seriously they also probably have less problems spending money on things such as 120Hz monitors and better PC hardware. For these reasons there will likely be positive correlation between 120Hz monitors and better performance and higher divisions but it does nothing to prove that the performance difference is from use of a 120Hz monitor.

#7 I thought about that but if people are bullshitting about dpm, they'll bullshit about total damage too. And time played. And every other stat.
Mile, you're right, but I am interested in seeing if people in the same divisions on the same class do better with "better" equipment. I fully expect invite players to have better gear and stats than open players.

my first season of invite and before i was using 60hz the second and after i had a 144hz. it makes everything easier but you don't necessarily need it.

It makes scout a lot easier since you can actually see wtf the other scout is doing while doing w.e yourself. While I don't think 120hz or 144hz is necessary even 85hz makes the game noticeably smoother and easier to play. I've used crts from 85hz to 100hz, 120hz.

There are ways around this. The most obvious one to me is the use of instruments, but who knows how ggglygy will try to work around it.

Posted my response. I sort of guessed my numbers, since I couldn't find any official stats on my ESEA page. I did try to mentally add up all my F/A/D though.
Hopefully I won't skew the readings!

You get the stats from the "Statistics -> Player Rankings" tab on the right of any ESEA page, I think it's also possible somehow from your player page but I'm not 100% on that.

Pulling this number out of thin air, when I upgraded to a 120hz monitor it felt like my scout game got 30% better immediately.
