WariCEVO won't have a dumb premium service that you never use, and more money will be going into the prize pot.
Even though a higher % of our money should go directly to prize pots, the prize pots will still be smaller than ESEA.
WariCEVO will use sizzling stats instead of the dumb ESEA stats.
I'm hoping they can integrate it into their site in an elegant manner. If they do than I would agree this is a plus.
WariCEVO client is simply the bare requirements they need to enforce their rules.
I'm not even convinced the CEVO client actually does anything. I'm pretty sure I recall playing in a match where only 9 or 10 people even used it.
And for the record I hope CEVO succeeds, and I will be playing in whichever league(s) the team I'm on plans on playing in.

I really don't like the "I'm not playing in CEVO because I want to see it have a successful season first" argument. By being complacent and staying with a league that has made it increasingly obvious over the last season that TF2 is an afterthought for them and not trying to help out an upcoming league, you're contributing to the poor season your shitty argument implies is going to happen. You're afraid no one is going to play CEVO, so you gladly comply to your assumptions by not playing it. At the very least, try to play CEVO as well. If you don't take it as seriously, fine. But standing by and doing nothing is still worse than treating it like a scheduled scrim and not taking the league seriously. If it's going to work at all, people are going to need to try to make it work.

Because CEVO doesn't provide their own servers, they have no real way of ensuring that a person playing in a match in connected through the CEVO client. The only thing they can do (I assume) is check if people were in the client when they were supposed to be, and if they weren't, they can overturn matches.

Here are killing, generally, a list of things people would like:
- Better/more stats and stat tracking (see sizzling stats) and also some of the things that now suddenly don't work (like scatter frag counters, etc).
- Website navigation (it's really strange trying to look at previous season right now for example).
- Why not use the pug servers to test maps before we vote on them as opposed to voting by band wagon (it's a win win for ESEA because people play on the pug servers, and maybe we'll get a 7th good map; why, you could even make a day or special event out of it).
- Clear cut start dates that are announced well in advance.
- Some system to allow a small number of matches to fall into other weeks under special emergency circumstances which are not issued generally by ESEA (such as at the start of this season and the client issues).
- Odd lag at the start of matches should be worked on.
- Ddos protection for the server and actions against those who ddos or at least make public that somebody at ESEA called *some* sort of legal authority to report being attacked and losing real revenue.
- A cursory glance at what has happened with server box routing or at least an explanation (I used to get like 20 ping to esea chi servers and now I'm 40 ms :/ - I know remedy and many others have worse problems).
- The creation of some sort of temporary repository for STV demos. It's kinda sad that every season just gets deleted entirely or even just the creation of a sx.rar that would be available for download for a short period after every season, they could even make it a torrent if they wanted to.
that's at least my take on it, and what I'm given to understand, most of the people I associate with would like

I'm from EU and I don't understand the need for an anti-cheat client, we've been fine without it. Cheaters get caught without it and the banposts keep coming on ETF2L. Also I don't like paying for my games, and I'm fine without a prize pot for lower divisions.
Also here everybody uses their own servers to play scrims and league matches and I've found no problem whatsoever with that either.

The esea client doesn't detect tf2 cheats anyway

WariCEVO won't have a dumb premium service that you never use, and more money will be going into the prize pot.
this straight up isn't true. Torbull's maintained the stance that they lose money on TF2 season after season, and I have no reason to doubt him.

We should obviously side with the organization thats outright losing money on us, and not the one who may profit. They have more reason to love us then.
Solid choice.

This, though it was said somewhere in January after people get settled in from the holidays, which has long passed.
Killing, what would happen if a large amount of players left ESEA and played CEVO? Let's say 1/2 to 3/4 of open and a few teams from IM/Main/Invite move to CEVO. What would happen the the divs higher than open?

WariIgnoring everyone spouting "malware!" and "ruined my trust", there's actually legit reasons to play in CEVO instead of ESEA.
CEVO won't have a dumb premium service that you never use, and more money will be going into the prize pot.
CEVO will use sizzling stats instead of the dumb ESEA stats.
CEVO client is simply the bare requirements they need to enforce their rules.
Personally this is why I'd play in CEVO rather than ESEA (if I wanted to pay to play my free videogame)
Sorry but I'm not going to trust you when you say there are legit reasons and then you go on to, basically, say "esea is dumb". And if you use the client then you use the premium service. Which gives you access to their servers. So you can play matches. Idk if you thought about this yet, but yeah. There you go.

JackyLegsWill there be another season of ESEA Europe? and if so, will you create more divisions to it?
Yes. The goal is to have another division in europe if we can get more teams. The divisions all depends on the number of teams.

If anyone here has any use for the premium service (besides joining match servers), then I would be hesitant to call it dumb, since right now it's useless to pretty much the entire TF2 community of ESEA.
afaik from the cevo meeting, CEVO will have match servers in the paid league (not including any premium service) that teams can use.
and sizzling stats is pretty much better than ESEA stats, lets be honest here.

When 1.6 dropped, we had to consolidate to only open but I can't see TF2 becoming that bad. I don't think anything disastrous will happen in the near future but I'd have to see the number of teams first.

lpkane is still co-owner and you're still an admin so the league hasn't improved much
lpkane is still co-owner and you're still an admin so the league hasn't improved much
I still don't understand why Lpkane has not said anything about the large concerns that people have right now. I feel like that kid only thinks about 5 seconds in the future. While I understand that there is a class action lawsuit that could really fuck him, but any good CEO would respond to huge negative PR complaints with what they are doing to change. The majority of posts of his have been run-arounds, ignoring, laughing at the questions, or bans against any hard questions about what he is planning.
While I understand that I am a bit jaded when it comes to him since I have a 10 year ban, but at the same time, it shows how little he cares about answering questions. He acts like everything is a joke and that no matter what he does, he will still make money. It's not like the client wasn't "attempting" to target everyone, the only reason that it didn't hit us was that we (TF2) don't stay idle long enough for it to kick in.
Who really knows what will happen with CEVO, but I feel like the only people that are saying anything are those that played in the last few seasons, and I want to explain the POV from someone that played early. Season one and two, no one had real issues with them. There were three leagues happening at once, TWL, CEVO, and ESEA and TWL was dropped very quickly.
I want to also say that while CEVO client hasn't picked up any private cheats, nor has ESEA. The only two private bans came as a manual ban. Play both leagues is the point, and take both serious.
Lastly, from a personal point. While I don't believe that my initial 10 year ban was correct, I still feel that why wouldn't I push harder after I was already banned for 10 years? I lose nothing at the point other than understanding the truth. Furthermore, why did people get a 10 year ban for questions against ESEA, while cheaters only get a year. There is no one that doesn't understand what a joke that is. Basically, they are saying that cheating is less than being an annoyance to the company. But somehow they are thinking about gamers first, sure.

But somehow they are thinking about gamers first, sure.
your 10 year ban will stand because you private messaged me threats, do not try to mislead the public
