PrototypesMost of NA uses sizzlingstats. We are used to it, we like it. What is wrong with that Kaneco?
Nothing. Just trying to clear up some confusion because what lange said was incorrect and it might have induced other people in error
And no stats plugin is "owned" by a specific scene, the more we share and create together, the better. I have used .ss on my servers before. And TFTrue with logs.tf as well. Both worked great for me, but I saw no advantage in keeping .ss after logs.tf was updated to show the logs ingame. So I am using logs.tf only now. (again, sorry for the offtopic)

KanecoThe interface of logs.tf is objectively cleaner than .ss, its not a matter of opinion as David put it so well in the linked post.
It seems you are dismissing logs.tf without even having used it before because that's the same excuse everyone gives and it's simply not true. Sorry for this little offtopic I'm not rallying for logs.tf but I just wanted to clear up some things because the NA scene seems to be very bad informed of what it actually is
If everyone gives that 'excuse' then don't you think that maybe everyone is onto something? If having one other person agree with you makes you 'objectively right,' then what does having (apparently) everyone agreeing make me?
Clean doesn't refer exclusively to aesthetics. It's also function. I don't care about # of airshots, damage taken, KA/D vs K/D, health pickups, or healing given when I'm looking for a quick reference. When I use sizzling stats I don't have to dig through a bunch of arbitrary stats that all have almost the same name to find damage dealt. And I can sort by teams on sizzling stats. I don't have to cross reference the column with the team color to make sense of the number I'm seeing. And I shouldn't have to point out how several stats are repeated throughout the page, or the length of the page itself.
I've used logs.tf plenty, I think most people who play this game have. logs.tf is great for what it does, but it's obviously not designed for a quick reference.

Enough .ss / logs.tf jerking please. Cevo thread.

Really excited for this. Can't wait to see the level of competition CEVO-O will be getting, and also wondering what the level of CEVO-M will be.

I'm interested to see what the skill levels for each division will end up being. #35 speaks the truth, backups shouldn't have to pay.

WIll their be a way to easily contact Lange or Nahanni, as cevo volunteers/community representatives, to deal with complaints or questions throughout the league. It will be useful to talk to people that we all know that care about the tf2 community with trust and confidence instead of new league admins that we haven't heard much of?

Is automatic score reporting on non cevo servers a future possibility? Otherwise, is official league servers only possible in the future?
I've always found manual reporting clunky and inconvenient.
Will stats be displayed on match pages?

I heard last season that some people managed to play matches without client, since the server doesn't have a way of ensuring the client is open. In the case of using non-league servers, or even league servers, is there a way of ensuring only paid players enter the server? Do we have to cross reference steam-IDs like UGC?

From the looks of it you will use pre-season matches to test out new maps?

CEVO does record on its website who on a team has the client open during the scheduled match time, so I presume that if there was a discrepancy they would just overturn the results of the match.
Which brings me to a question: will CEVO have an API to access information about the league such as teams, players, season standings, brackets, etc.? If not, is this on the roadmap?

#58, this is already on the roadmap and we've already started building the framework, so we hope to be able to release an API to access some of our league information shortly, but sadly I don't have an ETA.

Will there be an option to pay via paypal? A lot of people don't have credit cards and using someone else's just isn't an option for them.

Yes, we should have this in place before the end of the night, tomorrow at the very latest.

The default match days would directly mess with people playing in ugc. Lots of people play hl on mondays, then a portion do 6's on wednesdays.

I can only break into the studio at my job for personal recordings so many times.
Just use ggglygy's production methods, im sure its quite affordable.

On a serious note though is there going to be a dedicated tf2 stream for CEVO? The only one I found looked like it had a bunch of cs:go streams and the last thing i want is my inbox being full with messages of cs:go casts going live that im never going to watch

TgbSo you say match deadlines are monday and wednesday, how does re scheduling work and times and all?
Matches are scheduled 7 days prior to the round's deadline day and teams are encouraged to arrange to play at any time that works for both teams on or before the deadline date. If both teams can't agree on a date/time, the match is automatically scheduled for 8 PM CST on the deadline/default day.
MiNiThe default match days would directly mess with people playing in ugc. Lots of people play hl on mondays, then a portion do 6's on wednesdays.
We encourage teams to schedule their matches for any date/time that works for both teams, as long as its not after the deadline date for that specific round. Unfortunately, there are only 5 says available to us in a week (Sun-Thurs) and between CEVO, ESEA, and UGC there is bound to be some overlap.
Let us know if you have any questions about this...
Thanks,
