I was looking into purchasing a new CPU and the i5-3570K seems to be the top dog(for my price range) at the moment. I was hoping someone could help me find a reasonable motherboard to go along with it due to my current one not being able to support the new i5 socket type.
Also as far as 'bang-for-buck' does anyone think some of the current gen AMD CPU's would out perform the 3570k ? I've heard mixed reviews, but from what I've gathered people seem to prefer AMD over Intel for things like streaming, rendering, etc. Not sure if that's valid though.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have the 3750k as well. My motherboard is the ASRock z77 Extreme 4. No complaints about anything, either. It was all on a bang-for-buck kind of budget at the time.
The 3750k is pretty much definitely THE bang-for-buck CPU. I thought about going with AMD instead, but as you said, some of the reviews I read were mixed. The 3750 seemed like a safe choice, and it's definitely fantastic.

It seems like the 4670k is marginally better than the 3570k and it's on sale on amazon right now for $210. As far as the motherboard, I'd say that the z77 is a pretty solid choice.

If you are going to buy right now definetly go for the amazon 4670k, just remember that the 4670k uses the z87 chipset, not z77. This is actually a good thing, as haswell boards are generally cheaper than sandy/ivy bridge ones due to some motherboard components being shifted onto the processor.
I generally go for the cheaper high-end(z87) mobos that have good reviews. They will allow you to get a moderately high overclock and they are perfectly fine if you don't need a shit ton of extra features. I'm skeptical of some of the reviews for this one though, but the price makes it worth it. I have a Gigabyte board right now that's never given me any issues so I'm kind of leaning towards them. ASRock seems to be a decent company though. Plus I feel like the only people who write reviews are the ones that actually received faulty boards which is rare for all hardware. Unless your buying from some no-name brand obviously.
